Caneel took a lot of damage from the recent hurricanes. In fact, the resort is pretty much gone. However, the bay is still there, and the waters are still just as beautiful.

It is not open but volunteers are there working the grounds. It is an easier walk to Honeymoon Beach from there but there are no trespassing signs. Hope they open soon.

The only beach avalible is sunset beach which is a healthy walk to a mediocre beach. There is a $20 parking fee that will be refunded if you purchase $20 or more in the over priced gift shop. Many other great beaches on the island.

We have been to Caneel Bay many times over the past 25 years -- first time on our honeymoon in 1991. We went back this November on a family trip. We stayed elsewhere on the island since we now have teens/tweens. But, had an amazing...More
