    Great shopping!
I love Mongoose Junction. There's an excellent selection of stores and restaurants here. Several stores specialize in St John souvenirs and clothing, then there are the others: Baja Del Sol which is an art gallery/ store AND a Rum bar! Sip while you shop lol. Caravan Gallery which is the best jewellery store in St John. The Tap Room serving delicious food- try the wings they are something else! And they serve their home brewed beer and ale. The brewery is above the bar and you can see some of the vats from the dining area. Sun Dog bar/ cafe/ restaurant, an open air establishment serving the best breakfast and lunch anywhere. Try the curry chicken wraps, they are to die for! Above everything is the welcoming atmosphere and the friendliness of everyone. I can't stay away from the place when we're there on vacation!

    Great shopping and dining destination
Recently spent a week in St John and this great shopping and dining destination was 10 minutes from our rental house. We tried a couple of the restaurants and were very pleased. 18’64’ was a nice higher end restaurant with great food and handled our group of seven very efficiently with an outstanding server. The Tap Room was a great casual spot for lunch/dinner and beers with an efficient and friendly waitstaff. The shopping runs the scale from basic travel necessities one needs while on a trip to very nice higher end shopping with cool unique island specialties including jewelry and clothing. There are other fantastic specialty stores tucked throughout as well a really fun destination to explore. A great place that ticks a lot of boxes if you’re in the Cruz Bay and Chocolate Hole areas definitely check it out.

Beautiful, interesting stone complex for shopping, dining, hanging out
A beautifully designed complex of stone buildings, plants and flowers, high ceilings, shady walkways, multi-levels connected by staircases.... we had great meals here and my son and I spent an enjoyable afternoon shopping for friends and family back home. All the staff were friendly and there was actually parking in back. Mongoose Junction was one of my favorite man-made spots on St. John.

Great Shopping at Sugarbirds and Portico at Mongoose Junction.
Yes, you have to work out the parking challenges and, yes, it is expensive to buy anything on St. John, but we found Sugarbirds and Portico have terrific finds. They were our favorite shops. I loved the photographic art at Sugarbirds and the proprietor kindly helped me distinguish the different island sea turtles. OK, I didn’t really see a leatherback at Maho Beach. My friend fell absolutely in love with a unique penguin (soft toy) there. The clothing options (and other gifts) at Portico were some of the best. They even had lovely plus-sized linen shirts and dresses. (The selection went to 2x but the shirts could easily fit a 3x gal). There were other shops and restaurants that we visited, but others commented on those.

What a great little shopping mall. It was full of foliage and a wide variety of shops to chose from. If you get tired and thirsty from all your shopping, there is lots of food and bars to choose from. It is within walking distance from the ferry dock.

The businesses at Mongoose Junction are wonderful. We ate at several restaurants and did a lot of shopping, and we had great service. The parking situation, however, at Mongoose Junction is absolutely horrible. The management of Mongoose Junction does not communicate with businesses that run excursions nor do they think that patrons of those businesses are customers. If you are going on an excusion, speak to the company about where to park, because Mongoose Junction will boot your Jeep even if you paid top dollar for an exercusion out of there. Furthermore, the parking attendant is completely inflexible.

Putting aside the difficulty in parking if driving (very limited) we always visit when we come to St J. Despite a prior review, we think there is enough of both local and generic stuff to warrant a visit. If coming from ferry, very short walk from the pier. Lots for all- shops, bar, restaurants

Great selections of restaurant and shops. Seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists alike. HIGHLY recommend. Stopped by here several times during my stay, mainly to enjoy the small coffee and ice cream shops next to each other.

Ate at Greengo's Cantina and had a great sunset view of the bay. 1864 is another great spot for drinks and sushi. Wanted to try Sundog because it was always busy and lively but didn't get around to it.

The shops are nice and there are a few of them but most of them are pricey or higher-end stuff.

Lots of parking which is always a plus. Lots of tables and seating. There are also chickens that roam the property, they're very cute.

30 years ago, this was a place where local artisans sold their unique work. With the exception of a photo gallery with amazing island images printed on metal, and some "hook bracelets" in a few stores, all the shops are full of generic island trinkets, jewelry, or clothing. I had been to Prince Edward Island this summer and seen the EXACT SAME mugs, stickers, wind chimes, and t-shirts. Seriously. If you just want cheap souvenirs to bring back for the grandkids, this is for you. If you actually want things that are specific to St. John, you have to get off the beaten path to find them.
