- Bucky2 contributionsTOUR DE FORCE!They have a great open house every Saturday. It's not your average distillery tour, it's a happening with tours, tasting, a bar with specialty drinks with orange infusion and coffe infusion rums, live music great food and fun vibe of locals and visitors. The barrel aged rum comes out in mid-February.Visited December 2019Written 22 January 2020
- TCWBoston, Massachusetts11 contributionsBest new addition to Vieques! So excited to finally see Crab Island Rum Distillery open on Vieques. The rum is delicious and it's amazing to see a local business like Crab Island Rum see their fruits of their labor come to life. The distillery itself is a welcome addition to the scene of activities to do in Vieques. After some snorkeling & beach hopping we drove to the distillery around 3pm to grab a late lunch, some drinks, and enjoy the fabulous band. We also got a quick tour of the distillery which is awesome. The team at Crab Island Rum has done an amazing job from the branding, to the venue, to the rum itself, of course! And we can't wait to see the distillery continue to grow!Visited January 2020Written 28 January 2020
- gretchen r11 contributionsCrabIsland DistilleryAfter leaving a walk thru the old Sugar Mill ruins, we found the sign for the Crab Island Distillery. Having heard that it was only open to visitors on Saturday, we still drove to see it. Our luck was that the place was open (a working day) and Ivan, one of the owners, was happy to give us a tour even though it was just the two of us. His explanation of the process was excellent and we never felt rushed even tho it was a business day for him. All 4 tastings were good. We bought a bottle of the Orange infused rum and "plain" rum. Part of the charm of the place is the setting....in a large field where beautiful horses roam, as well as colorful and loud chickens/roosters. It was the perfect ending to our day.Visited March 2021Written 19 March 2021

We’ve gone to Crab Island a few times. Bartenders are always super friendly, food from the food truck is always tasty. We were there yesterday during a monster rainstorm. Not a bad way to spend a few hours!
It is worth calling them to find out what their music schedule is or looking on Facebook.
Honestly, I appreciate the clean bathrooms and filtered water refill station too! :)

It was fantastic! Great environment and friendly staff. We only wish we would have realized that you can't get their rum anywhere else!

This was TERRIFIC. The rum tasting was informal but I really enjoyed it. The coffee infused rum was smoother and better tasting than I thought it'd be. I hate coffee but I liked it. The 3 year rum is my favorite.
The empanadas at the accompaning cafe were some of the best I had either on Vieques or Old San Juan.
If you want great rum and great food, make your way here while on Vieques!!

The space was cute. But the mojitos were not made well at all, and priced high at $14 for a small glass. We won't be back.

The distillery is the perfect place for a midday break if visiting Punta Arenas or Mosquito Pier for the day. The drinks were all delicious, there was live music, a really nice food truck, and well maintained bathrooms.

We were told by our daughters friend that we have to visit this distillery when we were on the island. So glad we listened.
What do you do on a rainy afternoon in paradise? Drink rum drinks! They were delicious!
We enjoyed our time chatting with the owner about basketball. The entire staff was personable and fun.
The piglets and the dogs were fun to watch!
My husband has a fish allergy so we could not try food truck, but everyone who did seemed to love it. The staff there was also great!
A fabulous way to spend time! Hope we get back for Saturday music.
Highly recommend a visit.
