My husband and I were the first guests to arrive on the Shadowfax catamaran. Captain Roger and his crew welcomed us on board. It’s 10 a.m., and the intimate group of 9 guests, along with the crew, set sailed for a 6-hour tour on Grenada’s beautiful coastline.

After snorkeling, we were served appetizers and drinks. As we made our way south to Hog Island, guests and crew had the opportunity to interact with each other while enjoying the ride on a bright, warm day on the island’s shoreline.

We arrived on Hog Island at about 1 pm. The crew prepared for dismemberment and led us to the designated area on the beach. As they prepared to serve lunch, we could not help but observe the manner in which they handled the food. The crew involved in the process wore sanitary gloves. Very impressive!

The meal consists of a starter, which was a fish soup, and the main course comprises of lobster, salads, garlic bread, champagne, and wine. The food was delicious and the portion sufficient. There was also ample opportunity for swimming and socializing before heading back to the marina.

There seems to be no shortage of food on the boat. We were very surprised when we were offered another serving of refreshments on our way back.

The Shadowfax is a beautiful vessel. It was spotless, and the amenities were efficient. The crew was respectful, friendly, attentive, and very organized. I would say that we got our money’s worth.

Thanks, Captain Roger, Mary, Tyler, Deron. We had an amazing time and appreciated your warm hospitality. We hope to see you again in the near future.

The entire crew of the Shadowfax was amazing and really took pride in their jobs to make sure guests were comfortable. The trip to Hog Island was great and the food was excellent. Snorkeling sprung the underwater sculptures was short but not to be missed.

What an absolute pleasure. The Captain and crew were extremely attentive, professional and well organised. We did the 6 hour charter and started off with snorkeling at the underwater sculpture park, followed by a perfect sail to Hog Island, where we were treated to a feast of lobster and Champagne, it was just marvelous! The best charter company Grenada has to offer.

A full day of cruising which began with a snorkel dive of the Underwater Sculpture Park in Molinere Reef. The crew who join the snorkel experience were very protective of the passengers who choose to participate. A few of the passengers choose to remain on the catamaran and enjoy the view and sun. No liquor is consumed prior to the snorkel dive. The sculptures are covered in barnacles and located in about 30 feet of water. If you can dive 20 feet you will be able to take close up photos. The catamaran is in excellent condition, large enough for a group of our 20 passengers, and very comfortable. If you are not bothered by small waves breaking above the bow of the boat, sit up front where your view is unobstructed. The crew warn the passengers on the bow that as they round the southern Canoe Bay tip that the ocean may become a little rough and include waves that will break over the bow. Passengers who enjoy the rocking of the bow and are not bothered by becoming wet will enjoy the experience. The crew were very attentive and constantly offered us refreshing drinks. The snorkel dive is followed by a one hour cruise around the southern tip of the island for the lobster feast which is prepared on Hog Island by the ship's crew. Fish soup, rum drinks, beer, soft drinks, or water was followed by a salad then the iconic lobster feast. The bar-be-cue lobster, which is huge compared to Maine or west coast lobster, was the best that we have ever tasted. Interestingly, the locals are not really into lobster--they prefer chicken. Adjacent to the beachside setting (which includes wooden picnic tables) is a small white sandy beach which is great for playing in the water. The small beach area also includes a local artist who sells his hand-made jewelry, local conch shells, and other gifts at a reasonable price. Some negotiation is expected over the final price. After the feast we returned for a 2 hour trip back to the Lagoon port. Expect the complete tour to take 6 to 7 hours. The drive back to the cruise harbor, if you area aboard a cruise ship, is about 30 minutes. This is a must do excursion!!

This excursion was the BEST day of our cruise!
The crew was “over the top” fabulous! So polite and attentive!
Very helpful, gave lots of information about Grenada and where we were snorkeling!
Then, a beautiful sail to a nice beach, and served a lobster and champagne lunch!
Couldn’t ask for more!
Highly recommend!

We’ve just had a wonderful day out on the Champagne and lobster cruise. The boat is spotless and the 3 crew can’t do enough to help. We started with a guided snorkel over the underwater sculpture park ( excellent equipment provided) before motor sailing to hog island. On the way we enjoyed the excellent complimentary bar ( the rum punches are great). We swam at Hog island before an amazing lobster and champagne lunch. We then sailed back to the marina. This is up there with the best holiday trips we’ve had and although it isn’t cheap you certainly get value for money.

A good way to combine snorkeling, seeing the southwest coast of Grenada from the water, and a delicious bbq'ed lobster lunch on Hog Island. A bit expensive, but a great way to spend a sunny day on the water.

Took this as an excursion from our cruise and it was awesome. The trip on the catamaran was exhilarating. The secluded cove where we spent several hours was beautiful. The grilled lobster was out of this world. We would absolutely go again.

We recently took this excursion from a cruise ship. Generally, I am cautious about boat trips from cruise ships because they tend to be very crowded. This was not the case on Shadowfax.......we had a group of about 15, which was perfect for the boat.

We snorkeled at the sculpture garden, sailed to a beach for lunch, and sailed back to the pier. The snorkeling was fine (water was very nice) but a little short. The beach stop was also a little short, not much time beyond lunch. Most of our time was spent sailing. I would have preferred a little more balance.

The highlight of this trip was the crew. They were great. The service was attentive and helpful. They served an excellent lobster lunch.

This is a good choice in Grenada.

Boat was very nice and we did have cover on deck on the way. The snorkeling was cool. For beginners or not such good swimmers they had crew to help while in the water.
The ride was long and was a little windy at times. Everyone had a great time. The lobsters were huge and better than the cruise ship lobster night for sure. And we sailed back. It’s well worth the price.
Thank You Again !
