This was such a beautiful trip. Our tour guide, Yosvany, was exceptional. He was so informed about Cuba and the cities we visited, and you could tell he really loves what he does. He was attentive to our needs and had great recommendations for restaurants and activities we could do. He even surprised my wife with a birthday cake, which meant a lot to us.
We visited Havana, Bay of Pigs, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Santa Clara and back to Havana, and we had rich conversations about Cuba with Yosvany.
Locally Sourced Havana Tours is a well organized company and they are easy to contact in case of emergency. We would highly recommend using them for your Cuba trip, and asking for Yosvany to be your tour guide.

We did an 11 day that included Havana, Vinales, bay of pigs, Cienfuegos , Trinidad, Santa Clara, and varadaro. What a tremendous itinerary that was planned for us! And the best part of the trip was our guide who was with us the entire way. Silvia was a treat! Knowledgeable, fun to be around and with a great sense of humor! Ask for her. You’ll have a spectacular time. The entire trip was so enlightening. I can’t think of anything that would have made it better. Thanks to you and especially Silvia.

When my wife told me that she had planned this Cuban cooking emersion experience I was less than thrilled. However, in the interest of harmony I went along with it. This all went down on the last day of our trip. We met Lizbeth and her helper at the building with the kitchen. We exchanged names and she proceeded to take us thru the alley to their open market. Once there, she helped pick out the fresh ingredients for the meal we were to prepare. Once we had the necessary food, we went back to the building and climbed four stories…yes there was a rest area on the second floor if you needed it…we were never rushed. Once we made it to the roof top dining and kitchen, we were all given a cooking apron, each given a knife and told to start cutting up the veggies. I wasn’t overly excited about this but Lizbeth did a great job of talking me into participating in the preparation. Once I got into it, I have to admit it was kinda fun lol. Anyway, they walked us thru each step of cooking the food.
Once it was made and being cooked, Lizbeth took us over to the bar and made the most amazing Rum, honey, and lime drink. By that time the food was ready and we all went over to the table that was prepared for us and began eating the fruits of our labor.
Lizbeth and the cook staff were all amazing and made the experience so much fun…yes I admit it was fun lol.
On a side note, I was taken by a tattoo Lizbeth had on her arm and asked if she could set up getting a tattoo from the artist so the next day, she met me and took me to her artist where I got a one of a kind tattoo that I will always remember. As a final act, she arranged a taxi for me to take me to the airport and meet the rest of my party. Elisabeth was amazing and helped make this trip to Cuba most memorable.

As an American I was very worried about everything. The water, food and just general safety.
Needless to say all my fears were in vain. Cuba is the most welcoming country I have ever been to.
We stayed at private owned Casa's which were all very nice, safe and clean. If I was to make one suggestion go with the higher level of accomodations.
Kudos to Dan , he put together an amazing trip, answered a lot of questions and was able to add another friend . He was very professional and answered on the same day.
We had an amazing guide. Sylvia was so knowledgeable about the Cuban history, politics and even our history. She was kind and very patient with us. I certainly would consider her a good friend.
The service at all Casa's, private owned restaurants and attractions was top notch. The Cuban people will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and lack for nothing.
As far as money goes if your on a tour with breakfast and a few other meals included you really don't need to bring the suggested $100 dollars a day per person. Its very nerve racking to carry so much cash around every day. We went with $2000.00 USD and came back with $1200.00 for a 8 day trip. And we did eat and drink very well. Prices are very reasonable.
I can't say enough about this company other than it was one of our very best trips. Everything worked perfectly.

Cuba was breathtaking. The views, the experiences, but most of all, the people. I cannot get over the warmth and kind heartedness. It is certainly an experience we would never forget.
We were a party of 2 and booked a 4 day tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation and we owe it all to our dear tour guide, Carlos. The hotel we stayed at was amazing although we did prefer dining out and got a wealth of recommendations that suited both our desire and budgets.
We did salsa lessons, smoked cigars, did the walking tour, rode horses, a trip to Vinales, the Indian caves and lunch at the organic farm was really tasty. We also did the convertible car tour, had dinner at the five senses restaurant and a few other places.
Carlos literally catered to our every need, he was friendly, easy to get along with. His personality was so similar to ours. He is very knowledgeable and gave us a very insightful view of Cuba. It was not just everything we hoped for, it was more than that. He really took care of us, answered all our questions, was very honest and forthcoming and we felt comfortable being ourselves, joking around, being silly. We were able to do way more than we ever anticipated in such a short space of time with him thinking ahead to maximize our short stay. He gave us a 20/10 experience every day. He wore many caps, he took the most amazing photos, he was able to think on his feet to help us maximize our time and fit things in he thought would contribute to our overall experience, whether it was was a nice church along the way or a park. He helped us throughout, even helped us to check out of the hotel when my credit card was not working! He is truly an asset to Locally Sourced Cuba Tours. It felt like 3 friends going around town, where 1 friend just happened to know way more about everything.
It felt extremely sad saying goodbye to such a kind soul but we know for sure that this won't be our last visit to Cuba or meeting with Carlos.

When I began planning a trip to Cuba, I was searching for one that worked with local people as much as possible. I found what I was looking for with Locally Sourced Havana Tours. I just finished a four day trip to Havana. My guide Sady was fantastic! She knew a lot and answered all of my questions. She was one of the best guides I’ve worked with. I hope I can visit Cuba again, and if I do, I will definitely ask Locally Sourced Havana Tours to prepare everything.

This cooking class was such a fun, hands-on introduction to delicious Cuban cuisine for our family. We met Carlos and Maria and proceeded to pick out local ingredients at a nearby open air market, which was a real eye-opening and educational experience in itself. We then walked up to the spacious roof deck terrace with a full kitchen and incredible views over Old Havana and began the prep work. All of us got involved—some in my family really got into it—and we’re guided throughout by Marie, who is a gem of a person, and some other wonderful helpers. After the food was in the ovens or being finished up, we all got a mojito-making lesson, which was also a blast. And to top things off, we had a fantastic meal of more food than we could possibly have eaten. It was all delicious, fresh, and authentic. But it was the process and the people that made it so memorable. A real highlight.

Locally sourced Cuba organised the best holiday we've ever been on. We were on a ten day tour which was perfectly balanced between activities and travelling around the island. Our guide Carlos is really friendly, very informative and genuinely passionate about showing us his country. Cuba is vibrant and exciting yet relaxed at the same time. The casas we stayed in were all spacious and clean with welcoming staff, and all really well located as all were in walking distance of the sights, restaurants, bars and cafes. Every day had unique amazing experiences and we have memories that will be cherished for life. My only advise is to book a few extra days to stay in Havana after the tour as it is a unique city and is full of brilliant museums delicious restaurants and world class bars.
We will be booking our next trip to Cuba through Locally sourced very soon.

My fiance and I had an incredible experience with Carlitan (Carlos) our tour guide, and everyone on the tour! We did the 8-day Cuba Group Tour - Lively Cuba with 5 other group members. From the start, Carlos created a bond with the whole group (who we didn't know before the trip), and by the end we all felt like family. He was very knowledgeable about the history of all of the sites we went to and showed us the best local places in all cities to eat, go dancing and do whatever activities we were interested in. We also had an excellent bus driver, Orlando, who was very professional and friendly!
All of the hosts at the casas were wonderful and accommodating and provided us with tasty and fresh breakfast. The first accommodation in Havana was in a great central location where you could literally see outdoor cafes from your balcony. All the staff were friendly and helpful (Ernesto and the other fellows). All of the houses in Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Viñales were beautiful as well and in central locations with friendly hosts (Ms. Julia, Roberto, and Gloria). We never felt unsafe during the trip.
Some highlights were walking around the beautiful city of Trinidad, eating all the amazing food and talking to the friendly people. We went to a wonderful restaurant called Ambientes in Trinidad with fantastic food and atmosphere and a very friendly owner who made sure we were satisfied with everything. The local farm we ate at in Viñales had spectacular food and the views were incredible. It is a small town with friendly people and gorgeous landscape. We went to a tobacco farm and were able to sample local cigars, which was fantastic. We snorkeled near the Bay of Pigs in Cienfuegos which was incredible. I really enjoyed seeing all the local attractions in all cities, including the Bay of Pigs museum, Che Guevara memorial, boat ride in a cave, the prehistoric mural and riding in a classic car.
We had unforgettable experience, and I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have an authentic experience of Cuba! Ask for Carlitan as your guide!

Our trip with Locally Sourced Cuba was fantastic and perfect in every way--great itinerary, wonderful guide Lianne, very nice/comfortable B&B accommodations, etc., etc. Every detail was well handled and we very much enjoyed Havana, its history and people, as well as the excursions in the Vinales countryside. Our pre-trip anxieties were unfounded! Lianne handled everything for us including extra taxis for added excursions as well as restaurant and entertainment reservations. She also gave us great history and cultural perspectives on Cuba and its people--all with a smile and in excellent English. It was a "5 Star" experience. Thank you to the Locally sourced Cuba team.

You can book a Havana tour or a Cuba tour that includes Havana (both include a classic car ride) directly from the Locally Sourced Cuba website. (Do a web search for it.)
But you could also easily arrange a city tour or classic car ride by asking your hotel or B&B (casa particulare) staff to help you after you arrive and check in. Almost any of these accommodations would be happy to arrange any tours for you.

We did not do Tropicana. We eat in Old Havana at a local restaurant that our guide had recommended. I am sure the tour company would be able to arrange a Tropicana tour. They seem very fleixble with options.

Hi, we are interested in booking a private tour for 8 people. We are arriving January 3rd via cruise ship. Please send us some info. Does the tour meet the travel requirement of the U.S. government for Cuba? Price per person? Thank you!

yes, locally sourced tours meet all US requirements. They met us right across from the customs and immigration building in the piazza. It was an amazing tour, even though we only did a one-day tour. Lunch was included and was amazing and the afternoon in the classic US cars was fun. Ask locally-sourced tours for pricing for a private tour for the 8 of you. it might be a little more than the $90 per person that we paid, but would be nice. Also, since you are staying overnight, ask locally sourced tours what selections they offer for evening shows--tropicana show or a jazz bar in town. You go back to the ship after the tour for dinner, then go back out for the evening show, then back to the ship after midnight to sleep. Then, make the second day more low-key, sleep-in late, then leave the ship and casually shop for rum, cigars, and souvenirs or take a classic car (cab) to visit places that you saw during the tour and want to visit in more depth (like going to the top of Ambos mundos) or having a frozen daiquiri at La Flordita. Enjoy your holiday! You will love whatever Locally Sourced Tours arranges for you!

Company is called Locally Sourced Havan Tours. We booked online and paid with credit card. I believe the company is based overseas and not in Cuba which is why we were able to pay with credit card.

I am a little nervous about booking outside of Royal Carribean cruise but it seems I'll get a great deal more booking through Locally Sourced Havana Tours. Did you have any difficultly leaving the ship without one of their tours? I've cruised numerous times on Carnival and bought outside tours. But, with the visa thingy in Cuba, I want to be sure.

There was no problem at all. Just complete the RCCL Cuba form and get your visas when you’re boarding the ship.
The only thing is that RCCL will make you pick an option in the form that is not the correct one. But, besides this, no problems.

There was absolutely no problem using Locally Sourced Tours, and I highly recommend them. Please don’t let the cruise line intimidate you into purchasing one of their shore excursions, I can’t imagine that any of the excursions they offered would’ve been better than the one I received from Locally Sourced Tours. Just read their glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. We got a much bigger bang for our buck through LST!
