This place is very beautiful and meaningful historically. Not only the church, made from sea rocks, but the whola plaza and surrounding buildings. This place oozes colonialist atmosphere.

The church is incredible! Take your time and really look at the artwork inside. The history is very interesting. You do not have to be catholic to appreciate the beauty and historical significance of the church.

You can go inside the entrance area to the cathedral at no cost, but if you want to really tour it there is a small charge. Many tours stop there briefly. Nearby are several bars and restaurants.

A regular part of the Havana Walking Tour, and well worth seeing. Wish I could have gotten inside, but it was a national holiday and most of places were closed

We toured the interior of the cathedral and then took in the plaza featuring bars, restaurants and cigar shops. We planned to return to several after our tour, but discovered they closed for the afternoon or by 3PM entirely, so check ahead to see when...More
