This walking tour was an outstanding way to not only see the sights of Havana, but also to gain remarkable insight and context to the history and culture of the city. In my opinion, this is 'must do' while in Havana.

It’s my general rule of thumb to try and do a free walking tour the first day in any city. Without this one in Havana we would of been wandering aimlessly for too long! We went on the morning tour which then gave us a...More

This is an easy to find tour given twice daily. We took the afternoon tour after traveling most of the day. It is a lengthy tour, and we left after 2 hours, because we were exhausted. The tour was fabulous. We took the Old Town...More

Barbara, I am going to Cuba in early May and I am confused as to whether I can just get off the boat and walk downtown to pick up one of the free walking tours. I would expect to give a worthy gratuity to the guide for the tour; is that the way it is done? As a U.S. Citizen, I am led to believe that I cannot get off the ship without a prearranged tour. Also, there is some confusion to me about whether a local tour is Cuban government sponsored or U.S. sponsored. Is that an issue that you can address. I have booked a nighttime tour with Royal Caribbean, but it doesn't start until 8:30 PM. Since I get into Havana at 2PM, I'd like to spend time touring the city in the interim. Can a U.S. citizen do this? I have been in email contact with Havana Vintage Car Tours, but I don't know if I am permitted to arrange that tour on my own. Any experience that you can provide would be appreciated.
