This is only a small place, but the fountains are lovely. The planting is mainly box hedges, but the patterns of these were very intricate. Worth a look if you're in the area.

The gardens and the design of the fountains and other water designs are a jewel, well worth the 5 euro entry fee. We also got lucky and visited shortly before there was a tour of the two villas. In the end we were fortunate to...More

I am a garden geek and did all the gardens of the Roman countryside. Villa Deste and Villa Farnese are certainly larger and grander, but Villa Lante is perfect as a whole, and in its intimacy. Loved it! Much better maintained than Farnese.

In the mid to late C 16 two wealthy Cardinals and a nobleman created a cluster of three of the world's great water-animated gardens: Villa Lante, Villa Caprarola and Bomarzo. The first two are still water animated the third, Bomarzo, has lost its water systems...More

Probably the most important Mannerist garden in Italy. Unfortunately the maintenance contractors lack the competence to keep the fountains and water jokes functioning properly. Nevertheless worth a visit.

Beautiful fountains in the garden are well engineered and artistic. Walking around the garden and looking at the fountains made us so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the Villa Lante.

There were several tour buses but the property is so large, that it are not bothered by the crowd. Great place to wonder for a few hours.

At Euro 5 for entry this is a garden worth visiting. The parterre is well kept and trim, most of the fountains are working and the water cascade is quite impressive. There is some nice parkland as part of the gardens too. As an example...More

Sometimes you can find a spot outside the church. However before you get to the center on the right is a car park. I believe you will need to pay for a spot. I was lucky and found a free street spot, but a bit of a walk.

from porta romana no but from the main bus station in viterbo "sacrario" you can catch a number 6 bus to Bagnaia which takes you right to Bagnaias main square and it's 10 second walk away to villa Lante hope this helps 👍
