This is a lovely walk and it can be reached from either the Mangawhai Beach or Bream Tail Road. With the latter, you walk across a beef and sheep farm which up hill and down dale but its worth it. The local farmer has allowed...More

Between Auckland and Whangarei to the north, turn off Highway 1 and take the Mangawhai Road thru Te Arai to Mangawhai Heads. The views are spectacular. Easy, safe parking and a number of footpaths to follow. A great area for photography, picnics and walking. Highly...More

A great walk, not too difficult but it does have a number of steps which gets the heart rate up, but worth it for the great views. The beach walking part can only be done at low tide so check before you go, I'd recommend...More

This walk is not challenging unless you time the tide wrong and end up having to climb back up the 7274932 steps that lead down to the beach at the end! A great workout if that happens. If you manage to get the timing right,...More

Beautiful way to spend a few hours. Few steep bits and few bits of quite uneven terrain (boulders on beach). Needs to be low tide to walk back along beach. Roughly 1.5 hrs each way. Stunning views of Mangawhai coastline all the way along to...More

Easy walk, with many steps and some boulder hopping at the Northern beach end. Very nice views and outlooks. Good in any weather.

This is a great walk with a few steps at the start but well worth it for the stunning views. The track is not pram friendly or suitable for small children - pack some water on a hot day

This is a great walk, very steep steps to get to the top, but well worth the effort, advise to go early in the morning so its not to hot, but nice to have a dip in the sea afterwards.

I ran the cliffwalk with my girlfriend and it was the most beautiful track I've experienced. Such massive contrast between forest, beach, cliffs and hills.

This walk has everything, beach, scrambling over boulders, steps, bush and stunning scenery. We opted to do the beach/ boulder part first due to the timing of the tide. then climbed the steps to the cliff top. The views are amazing. It was a beautiful...More
