Interesting little museum. Worth the $5. Have a wander - Really interesting stories about the shipwrecks along the coast.

This is a must when visiting the Catlins. It has heaps of information and a lot of maps and brochures to take away. The museum is also very interesting and worth the modest entry.

The museum gives you a very good overview of the history of the Catlins area, especially as regards the timber industry, railways and the sea. Well worth a visit.

Be sure to take the time to visit the Owaka Museum when in the area. It is run by volunteers that are extremely knowledgeable about the area. They give you all the good out of the way places to visit that are special to the...More

This museum was recommended to us by a local, well worth the visit. Friendly staff and a great selection of displays. Especially enjoyed the shipwreck short movies and display. Highly recommended.
