Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The beach is prestine. Gold and fine sand, cold water and huge waves.
If you don't surf is only to see because can be windy and also cold.
The worst thing that happened to us is when we came back to the car they had stolen EVERYTHING from the car. As many people go from one part of Algarve to the other one we left our cases inside. They broke the lock of the door of the car and they opened the car taking everything.
After to talk with the police they told us is "quite common". So, don't do it if you don't want to have the worst holidays in life.

Going to Bordeira is like getting lost. First you drive through small simple farms and then the road turns to gravel. After several twists and turns, you see the river, the desert, the beach, the ocean and surfers from high up on a cliff. At times it looks like you are going to drive off the cliff into the ocean, so the road is not for the squeamish. The beach and the views are spectacular. Don't be in a hurry when you come out here!

We went surfing on this beach twice. The people of the surf rental place are very friendly and the beach is just stunning. One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen!!!

As great as the beach may be, it is surprising nobody has ever mentioned the drive along the cliffs. It is a good dust road accessible to any cars. It is called 'Estrada da Praia'. Since it is part of the national park on the southwestern part of the Algarve, they have arranged board walks all along this scenic road. It is absolutely stunning. In the southernmost section of the road, there is a nice café and restaurant to sit, relax and enjoy the view.

The view from the top of the stairs is amazing, the beach is not too large, but is beautiful, great for sunset wine and friends or romance.

Unfortunately we do not have any pictures as we thought we’d swim, and left our phones in the car. This was probably the most beautiful beach we’ve ever seen. Located in the middle of a national park, it’s pretty self explanatory. we ended up not swimming because the waves were waaaaaay too much for us. Looked terrifying and dangerous, but a surfing class was happening nevertheless.
There were two very attentive and focused lifeguards which surprised us a lot. One of them went so far that he pulled an irresponsible mother with a kid out from
The water to explain how the child was seconds from drowning as result from her stupidity. They ended up not going back to the water, and I thought that the lifeguard was really PRESENT, rather than just sitting there and not giving a damn.
The access to the beach absolutely sucks if you don’t have a car, we had to rent one and drove over an hour. The beach is kilometers wide, sandy, and the surrounding cliffs definitely make amazing viewpoints.

If you like a very different experience from south Algarve beaches, this spot can be for you. A great nature with natural dunes and kilometers of untouched beach.
This surf spot is working in almost every condition thus you can find waves generated by long distance swell as well by wind. But the water temperature is cold and you must wear a swimsuit. Definitely a must In Algarve

Rarely have I seen, visited, or even read about a beach as large as this one. Praia da Bordeira made me feel like I was crossing the Sahara. There were sand dunes and beautiful, vast open passages, including a walkway above the beach for incredible views down below.
Waves and riptides were vicious here, so much so that there was a red flag warning that prevented anyone but courageous surfers from venturing into the open waters. Hopefully your results will vary.

We went to this beach yesterday in sunshine and a good spring breeze. It is scenic and once at the beach feels very wild. But beware that there may be - like yesterday- very very strong rip currents and undertorrents. My husband was in less than lower hip deep and got out of a major current only with his board. We had to witness that a dad of another family who went in for a short swim was taken out to sea by the currents, and we were all unable to help because the sea was so dangerous. It took emergency services 50 minutes to reach us in the middle of this remote beach and all help came too late.

how can i arrive to the beach with bus or something like?
Written 27 January 2018
I've rent a car, but the nearby city is Carrapateira. You should look to that destination with the bus and from then from there should be something to reach the beach.

Rather not, at least I did not notice how I was there.

Yes dogs are allowed but you should try to walk away from the beginning of the beach where everyone normally stays. The beach is extensive with plenty of space for you to walk the dog and sit and sunbathe away from everyone at the other of the beach or on the sand dunes.

Yes, you can rent boards & wetsuits at the beach bar.
