See what the original site for the Olympics was like. You can still run the track, and see other stations. A fascinating mix of history and perspective on life. Nice and shady as well!

Stagira is an important site and the work undertaken reflects that. Not the most extensive digs but on difficult terrain one gains a feel for the scope of the town and the reason for the its location.

Very interesting site, although it wasn't clear where exactly Aristotle was born, no house was marked, and maybe it is not known or I didn't understand it. The view is breathtaking!!! A must see if you are in the area! I loved how on top...More

Addressing the Aristotle 2400 Years World Congress, they point to the 2,400-year-old tomb as the most important finding from the 20-year excavation. The discovery of the tomb of Aristotle was announced by...More

Remains of an extensive city which have only been excavated in the last 15 years. Birthplace of Aristotle. Situated on a peninsular next to the sea with good interpretation - in English! Takes about a hour to walk around it and we found it really...More

It`s a nice place to stop by and maybe enjoy the view from the top but not much you can except stones, few pots and that`s about it. But if you stay in Olimpiada there is not much you can do so I recommend you...More

Well worth a couple of hours visit if your staying in Olymbiada. The site is in two sections on a headland, paths are steep and rough in places.
