Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For years I have driven back and forth between Palmerston North and Wanganui and I always wondered what 'Cameron Blockhouse' was. Now I know (and it was worth stopping for) that it is 'a rare surviving example of a privately constructed redoubt' from 1868. Don't visit on a cold or wet day or else you will have to dash from the carpark to the redoubt across boggy farmland. A visit will only take under 30mins once you've read a bit about the history from the signs located inside the building and taken a tentative tour through the heavily cobwebbed rooms. A great place to stop into if you have any interest in early New Zealand history. It is free to visit and you don't appear to have to alert anyone to your arrival (as least, we didn't).

Spotted this on my map along my drive, so I popped in for a quick look. It's a fascinating insight into early settler days. A couple of information boards.
It is up a farmers track and has a small grassy area to park. Worth popping in if you are passing

This is not easily accessible. The parking area is on a rise and covered with grass. Not accessible by a regular car. The track leads to a private farm. No turning area.

A new geocache had been placed here as part of a Geotour so I took my 7 year old granddaughter down to grab it. She was interested in the building and its history. It is definitely worth a quick stop if you need to stretch your legs.

I’ve driven past this place countless times over the years and always wondered what was there. Finally stopped in. Very interesting and provides a great insight to early settler life.

As a geocacher, I get to discover lots of interesting sites such as the blockhouse. There is a nice park ‘n grab geocache there and it is a great place to stop, stretch your legs and learn some of the local history. Definite worth a visit.
