Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This short loop track (around 15 minutes) is easy for children and a great way to stretch the legs on a road trip. It's a little off SH12 - directions from the DOC website say: From Matakohe travel east about 5 km along SH12 and turn left onto Wearmouth Road, then left into Sterling Road. The track starts approximately 1 km along Sterling Road on the left.
This is a great way to get amongst the native bush. Lots of Kauri so there was a shoe washing station at the start/end. Highly recommended.

Easy access and walking track. Wonderful stand of Kauri. Suitable for all ages and mobility. Wonderful adjunct to a visit to the Kauri Museum at Matakohe
