It was crowded when we visited but we were able to find a picnic area for us to enjoy our lunch. The river runs to one side of the picnic area. The kids played in the water for a while.

Great place for a picnic with lots of parking in your own area. River runs next to the property which makes for some great views.

When ever we are on vacation here, we always spend at least one evening here cooking dinner. Grills and table areas are nice. Great trails for sightseeing. Highly recommended going.

Easiest way to find this place is to look it up on google maps and get directions from there, or to follow directions from the National park’s website (look it up under picnic areas). In the summer it starts getting busy around lunchtime, so if...More

Hey Annsims; I'd say roughly 25 miles or so but the speed limit is lower so it may take 45 mins or more to get there. Totally worth it though!
