Grand view point is the beginning of a trail along the top of the canyon. It is fairly easy. The views are unbelievable. Forget the Grand Canyon! It is in the Island in the sky section of Canyonlands National Park. It is about 2 miles...More

It is a long drive to get there so I would recommend staying in Moab and enjoying Arches NP for a longer period of time.

This hike is wonderful as it follows the canyon edge so you get fabulous views of the canyon. It's easy and worth your time so make plans to do it.

This overlook at Island in the Sky at Canyonlands National Park is at the end of a long winding road. It is a very good view of the canyons below. This is one of the few overlooks with vault toilets. That was much needed after...More

We did enjoy the drive the the viewpoint with so many perfect view-stops on the way. Very good descriptions regarding the geology and the history of the NP. Almost as nice as the Grand Canyon.

Grand View Point is the southern-most spot on Canyonlands National Park's high mesa, the Island in the Sky. Laid out below is a complex network of canyons carved by the converging Colorado and Green Rivers. This two-mile round trip leaves from Grand View Overlook and...More

Wow! We got to the overlook in the later afternoon after most of the crowds were gone. This made the colors on the canyon walls and across the view particularly spectacular. Numerous photographers were there trying to capture the moment. We hiked out to the...More
