Feels very much like an ancient abandoned forest. Beautiful scenery and lots so see, however take a flask as the cafe doesn’t seem to open for very long. Although there are pubs.

It is a lovely place to walk the dog, relax and to get a breath of fresh air. Lovely area to explore with places for children and adults alike to investigate. Wonderful area for nature to see at first hand.

Perfect for dog walkers and a family walk. Car parking available for a fee. The wood is the site of a Victorian zoo.now gone but remains of the bear pit are still visible. Wear wellies if it's wet.
