Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here to ear out lunch and the place is clean and has that very rural vibes. Nice place to rest for a few hours after the walks around Silay. I would say that the park is maintained with cleanliness and so many plants :)

This plaza was a pleasant, brief stop for me to gather my thoughts after having a look at the various excellent historic homes in Silay City along with its impressive Catholic Pro-Cathedral.
As with the previous TA reviewer, there wasn't anything of note happening mid afternoon during siesta time, but at night it could be a lot more vibrant.
Silay City is less than 15 kilometres from Bacolod City and well worth visiting.

After Balay Negrense, we were pretty tired. So we decided to plop down in the Silay Public plaza. En route, we saw the beautiful Silay North Public school (now being renovated) - it looked real heritage - yellow and brown in colour, 2 storeys high, high ceilings, tall wooden windows.
We arrived at the Public plaza and it was bloody hot! So hot that I stared in a daze, mesmerized by a mango shake stall. A pity the owner was absent.
Closeby there were two stalls with smiling ladies selling buko juice. I rejoiced.
Well - just for a moment. Once I had 2 sips of the so called buko juice, I realised that they were 10% buko, 40% water and 50% some unspeakable concoction of chemicals, sweeteners and laxative! I managed to down half the glass, and could take no more!
The public plaza itself is a nice place to relax. I am sure it is more happening in the evening, but at 3 pm, there were just some kids playing and a cat snoozing!

Very large plaza with many benches and sitting areas. Accessible from all four streets around it. Lovely, mature plant and trees, plus many walking path areas. Popular with people of all ages. Almost always you can find snack vendors on two of the side streets. At one time there was a large fountain there, but it is inoperable and empty now. Large stage and assembly area for civic events. Downside: Blaring music; it can be difficult to visit or talk with your friends because they over-amplify the music that is playing.

Me and my tour guide went there to rest. It was excruciatingly hot. The plaza is clean and have lots of trees. We even saw students practicing for a dance.

As with many things in Silay City, this plaza fits into a well-constructed larger plan that promotes the hierarchy and richness o the area. The park offers shade from a few of the most amazing trees I have seen in the Philippines - huge trees to begin with, and then over many, many decades they have supported 2nd and 3rd layers of others plants growing in them. The plaza is a great civic work offering recreation, entertainment, and peace tot he local population. The centrally planned location connects it to the major church of the area, the commercial district, ancestral homes, and historic school buildings. These classically designed plazas should remain an inspiration for socially conscious designers who want to benefit the public. Add to all of this the basic age of the area, and general level of care the plaza has received, and you have a really pleasant place to spend time in.

For me, this is one of the simplest yet the best public plaza I have seen. It does not have sophisticated sculptures, but it is very environment friendly. The big trees sorrounding the plaza make it a perfect place to relax, feel refresh and breathe a fresh air. The plaza offere a great view of the dome of their church, just like other public plazas, but its relaxing ambiance that make you appreciate the beauty of their church by just staring from a far.

It's clean and have lots of trees where one can rest, it can easily be visited if one can have easy quick stroll to the plaza since taxis going to airport is just in the corner of public plaza and the fare is P50.00 but need to wait for more passengers but no worries in getting late for your flight because the drivers know the schedule of flight. One of the best is its location just a 2 minutes walk is the SAN Diego Parish cathedral, all need to do is just cross the street.
Another 5 minute walk is the Balay Negrense which is an Old Spanish house. And also the El Ideal is one of the old and best native delicacies in Silay is just 1 minute walk from plaza as well.
One can buy lots of pasalubong there since it offered a lot of variety native foods and taste is soooo Great!!!!
