The walk to the lighthouse is magical. One of the highlights of our trip. The surf, sun and sea all combine to make this a special spot.

Getting there is easy. The road is now more or less entirely surfaced. The road from Kaka Point gets increasingly up and down and more winding and it narrows in places but is an easy drive. The lighthouse is 900 m from the car park....More

Loved this area! Thought views equal to Great Ocean Road trip we did in Australia with less distance to travel to see wonderful breathtaking views. This view of the walk to the lighthouse is one of our favourite shots we took. The day we visited...More

This place is a bit remote but well worth the visit. I was expecting unsealed roads, but the road access was actually sealed.

Well marked track which isn't difficult as there are SO MANY people there. Car park was full, difficult to get a park, but once you are there, views are worth the drive.

Hello! We're planning to drive from Dunedin to Te Anau tomorrow and wanted to visit Nuggets Point. we were wondering if there's a lot of driving in the gravel road? And do we park our car in a car park and walk the trail? Approximately how long is the trail? Thanks
