An easy walk out to the lighthouse for sensational views. You can also see seals on the way. Plenty of areas to take photos of the area. Enviro toilets are available in the car park area.

Worth the detour off the scenic route. Every thing that I expected plus a lot of seals on the rocks with there pups. Very good scenery on a clear day

A visit to the lighthouse at Nugget Point is a definite highlight of visiting the Catlins Coast. It is accessed by a narrow windy road passing through spectacular coastline and farm scenery. It is a short / uneven walk to the lighthouse where you can...More

One of a few key Catlins landmarks that you really shouldn't miss on your travels through the region. Check for the right times to see the penguins while you're out here, especially if you will be about later in the day. Prepare for a little...More

A very impressive place. Put the selfie stick down for a bit and listen to the thundering surf and the power of nature.

I live locally and this is a favourite place to take visitors. A lovely daytime scenic walk. Go for dinner to The Point cafe in Kaka Point and come back just before dusk to see the yellow-eyed penguins arrive in. A great day out.

Amazing views, after a fairly short (10 min?) and easy walk. You have to keep an eye on young ones, it it wide but pretty steep! You can see some seals on the rocky beaches left and right. There are toilets at the start. Well...More

Beautiful place for the photo album. We took about 20 mins to walk up the slope. It was manageable and worth the climb. Very windy but we had clear blue sky. Worth a visit.

Outstanding views and a real highlight of the catlins. The best thing is you could see seals swimming etc in the ocean. Very good. Please note the walk is not far but is up hill.
