La chiesa è nota anche col nome di San Francesco, essendo stata fondata nel 1594 insieme al complesso conventuale francescano.
La semplice facciata si distingue per il bel portico a tre archi, sormontato da un rosone cieco e due finestre rettangolari.
L'interno a una sola navata contiene una buona tela raffigurante San Francesco d'Assisi, opera del primo Seicento di Giulio Cesare Bedeschini, un ciborio anch'esso seicentesco, un candelabro in legno intagliato e una cinquecentesca Madonna col Bambino in terracotta.

Bello e organizzato questo borgo tra le eccellenze abruzzesi ed europee. Per il tempo inclemente non è stato possibile salire al castello, che da solo vale la visita. Il resto è da godere.
