Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Along the Sdrucciolo della Luna the climb is really steep, but it offers remarkable glimpses of a village located at a considerable altitude (more than 1000 metres) which absolutely deserves to be explored, and not just considered the gateway to the (however wonderful, and peaceful reachable by walking up for less than an hour) Rocca Calascio. Higher up, near the fortress, a further village, Rocca Calascio, will welcome the visitor with a few houses and even more remarkable views. I don't think, however, that the village itself can compete with the spectacular nature of some urban views of "lower" Calascio, not very small (in the past it had much more than the current approximately 120 inhabitants), with an urban structure that can be traced back to the Alto Middle Ages. There are also numerous churches, although predictably often closed.

The original village of Calascio is higher up on the hill, when coming down from the fort you pass through it. This was abandoned, however, some houses are being renovated and turned into guesthouses and hotels. Further down is the current village of Calascio, the upper part of which has many abandoned buildings that are falling apart. Lower down, the buildings are better maintained. However, this is certainly less nice a village than either Santo Stefano di Sessiano or Castel del Monte, both of which are nearby. The reason to come to Calascio is to visit the fort, Rocca Calascio, on top of the hill.
