Loved following this trail and there are so many interesting spots with incredible views. The history of the wee town is huge and you get to walk up to the old Pa site where the view of Doubtless Bay is extensive. A lovely town to walk through and check out all the interesting old buildings.

A local Mangonui resident took me on this walk on a sunny day. What a wonderful experience. A quick trek through a bush and up the local roads .. a visit to the old schoolhouse.. an easy short climb up the Pa ..

A very cute walk showing old buildings and heritage of the area - if you like history its worth it. The area also had superb beaches - nice cafes and is very scenic. I would suggest tourists would love this area - I'm a kiwi and I love it!

A pleasant way to explore this quaint little harbour full of history. Not entirely on the level for the older tourists but still manageable by most if you take your time. Some of the views make it well worthwhile.

we mainly drove and checked off places from the guide (downloaded before we got there, but available in the village) nice to find out who used to live and work in the various well maintained buildings.

A very easy walk although we did it in a way that did not follow exactly what was on the map (we did the Sailors Graves after the newer Mangonui School). It enabled us to appreciate the historical importance of the area without having to spend much gas or money.

I thought it was wonderful that people have taken the time to research the history of the area and have shared that history with visitors. There were some really interesting fact along the way.
