Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delightful personal guided tour. Local knowledge abundant and personally prepared picnic lunch in remote northland bay.

We did this trip (with a different company) on our last visit to the area in 2008 so thought it was time for a repeat! We booked through our motel a couple of months ago so even though the day dawned grey windy and rainy we had to take the trip! Fortiunately the rain didn't last long and the sun came out. Pete, our driver, was friendly and knowledgeable and clearly knew where to go to avoid the tour buses - Ninety Mile beach was practically deserted and the buses only started to arrive at Cape Reinga as we were leaving. Highlight for me was digging for tuattua (clams) on Ninety Mile beach and then Pete cooking them for us along with the swr/odfish he'd brought to cook for our lunch which we had at an almost empty Tapotupotu Bay. Highly recommended.

A great trip up to Cape Reinga and back along 90 Mile Beach in comfort. Peter ensured we saw the best of the beaches, including places not visited by the tour buses, cooked a great fresh fish lunch and gave us plenty of time at all the key stops. Definitely the best way to enjoy the trip without having to do the driving yourself.

We hired Peter to take us to Cape Reinga and 90 Mile Beach. He picked us up from our hotel in a very comfortable 4 wheel drive. As we were driving he pointed out various places of interest and explained the local history. He provided a beautiful lunch - freshly caught fish grilled on his portable BBQ, salads and fruit and water, tea and coffee. The trip was ideal for us as we could visit the places of interest at our own pace and did not have to visit where the large tour coaches stopped. On the way home we stopped to collect pipis on the beach (which was a bit of a novelty for my American husband). All in all a great day out at a reasonable price.
