Beautiful safe beach

Often good waves for body boarding, nice at either high or low tide. Also a playground for the kids.

Take a walk on the track around the headland and soak up the scenery on this crystal coastline. Peaceful and beautiful alike. Safe for swimming with plenty of parking nearby to get you there. Public toilets and a playground are also handy. Take time out...More

What a stunning beach, just gorgeous to go for a early morning walk with my sisters dog. Safe beach to take the family swimming.

This is a lovely huge beach with plenty of pohutukawa lined along it, so very spectacular in November/December. Nice hard to soft white sand and plenty of space to sit, however the carpark that services the beach is far too small, so on busy days...More

Lovely small town with a great beach, however the beach is not large and may become crowded at peak times. The sand is clean and the beach slopes down towards the water. Young children would need to be watched as the occasional wave is quite...More

We just have to visit this beautiful beach each time we visit New Zealand and go up to the Bay of Islands and northwards.

Lovely clean 1.5km stretch of golden sand. Numerous access points, most with ample parking. Bordered by many old pohutukawas. On a clear day you can see the whole of the Karikari Peinsula across Doubtless Bay.

Sums up all you would hope for when visiting a beach in New Zealand. Stunning Pohutukawa trees drape over the beach, soft sand and so much space. Even a playground to keep the kids entertained.

We spent 2 nights at Coopers Beach. Lovely little place with great beach. Not many shops or restaurants but a good base to explore Northland
