Don't drive past here as the beach is beautiful with Pohutakawa trees lining it and the view out to sea is fantastic. Worth a stop for sure and a break from driving. New Zealand beaches rock!

Stunning beach with calm waters which would be great for families with children . The beach arcs around with trees on the edge of the sands . Spotlessly clean , a joy to have visited .

We started one end of the beach and walked to the other and back. It was relaxing. There were not many people on the beach and our main company were sea birds

Good beach to hang out with the whole family. Ideal for little kids with gentle waves. Soft sand and those trees are just beautiful in early January.

Safe, warm, heavenly. Days on the beach, body boarding in the very polite waves, kitesurfing up the peninsula, walking... really didn't want to leave. Well located for anyone wanting to explore the far North. Has a small supermarket, hardware store, butchery, pharmacy and even two hair salons so you don't have to go far to find everything you need.

During the daytime in peak season it can get a bit crowded with parking hard to find. The place is great for an evening walk and to take some beautiful sunset photos.
