Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gorgeous beach with a row of phutikawa trees - a magnificent sight of New Zealand Christmas trees. If you move along from the car park there is plenty of space on the beach.
The long drop is a bit smelly!!

A great beach and not crowded at all. A must to do if in the area. Can just see time stand still. Great swimming beach and Aldo good to walk along the sand. Highly recommend if you just want to disconnect. Do try thr ice creams from the Cable Bay store across the road from the beach.

A walk along Coopers Beach is not to be missed if visiting or staying in the area
At high tide it would be possible if you don't mind getting your feet wet. Best at half tide if you wish to keep dry although the shallow stream across the sand at the half way point poses a minor wet foot spot if you wish to walk the full length of the golden sands.

The Bay Apartments are great accommodation. Beach and swimming brilliant . Visit the Monganui Pub, but dont buy the Parrot a drink as she can't handle her liquor. Great thai just down the road from Pub.

A lovely long stretch of beach with golden sand. A gentle gradient makes it shallow for kids to enjoy the surf. There are toilets and a playground near the car park. There is easy access to the beach from the lower car park. The pohutukawa trees provide ample shade at low tide. When were we there, the water was like a tepid bath! Great for a day at the beach.

Beautiful beach. Clean with golden sand. The beach is lined with Pohotukawa trees so plenty of shade not far from the waters edge. I would have loved to visit when the flowers were out on the trees, would have been a beautiful sight.

It's a beautiful little place. Not really a swimming beach but lots and lots of other beautiful beaches to visit, swim, walk within easy access. Eating out a bit limited for dinner, a Thai restaurant , a pub with chippy and another chippy but several good cafes for breakfast/lunch.

Great part of Northland, plenty of beaches to visit, safe swimming boating fishing, not a lot in the way of surfing while we there, good local shops and a fantastic coffee from the coffe shop in the container
