Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I took a cooking class with Sofia during my winter break. I learned a lot about the Taiwanese culture and cooked delicious local dishes!

It was just Sofia and I and it felt like I was making dinner with a friend. Her coworking space is incredible with many projects that she completed herself which she was happy to answer all my questions about.

I would highly recommend this class - such a great local personal experience!

I arrived already loving Taiwanese food having lived here for a few years and left with a much deeper understanding of the food and culture. I would happily come back and do another class with friends later in the year.

In short, book a class. You won’t regret it at all. Awesome experience.

We had a wonderful time during the cooking class with Monica. It felt like we were cooking and eating with an old friend. We learnt a lot about aboriginal ingredients and food culture. Highly recommend!

The class is normally for a group of 4 but was just me this time which wasn't a problem. The teachers were very warm and social, answering all my questions and eating with me after. I got to try a few new ingredients I hadn't had before too! Would definitely recommend.

We had a great time during the cooking class. We learnt a lot about the local produce at the market and how to prepare each dish. It was a fun experience and we definitely did not leave hungry.

We had a great experience in this cooking class. Sofia was so lovely and helpful, answering all our questions and offering such suggestions. She also taught us about Taiwanese aboriginal culture.
After the class they presented our dishes to us for lunch. It was hands down the best meal we had in Hualien. I'd like to come back again. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for cooking class in Hualien.

Three of us took a half day cooking session at Karenko cooking. Monica and Sofia were so friendly and full of information about plants and ingredients that they use in their cooking. The location was easy to find with the instructions given and the cooking area was attractively decorated.
We made about 6 dishes in all - all really different and tasty......and the pineapple wine was an added bonus!!
Would definitely recommend.

Started with basil gin cocktail, refreshing and tasty. Kitchen crews are nice and friendly, feel welcome and comfort. We try different ingredient like wild vegetables, snail, breadfruit...etc. Enjoy cooking and dining with friends and crews, definitely recommend it's the best way to experience Taiwanese aboriginal cuisine.
