There’s a bar, restaurant, infinity pool, showers and changing rooms plus free use of watersports equipment such as kayaks, SUPs and snorkelling gear. - Kerri13 contributionsBest way to spend the day!I visited Malamala with a friend and we had the most amazing day, we didn't want to leave. We were after a day of R&R, cocktails and some good tunes. Malamala did not disappoint! We pre-booked a poolside day bed for the two of us, towels we're waiting for us on arrival and our lovely butler Amelia looked after us for the day. She was always easy to reach and made us delicious cocktails all day. Highly recommend the 5 x cocktail deal! We can't wait to come back, thank you for your hospitality Amelia.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 30 November 2023
- AAbhishayNadi, Fiji167 contributionsA wonderful day out as usualAs always the service, vibes and food were amazing. The staff were quick to take orders, I didn't have to wait for long. They do everything to ensure you are having a good time at the beach club. For instance, we had a group of girls who brought their Bluetooth speakers and were making noise by the pool, the staff came and politely asked them to switch it off as it was disturbing the rest of us. In another instance, I didn't have my $99 cocktail card on me but they gave me the benefit of doubt and added it to that card, when I went back to my daybed I crossed off the two drinks. Like the staff didn't inconvenience me to go to the daybed and bring the card back, I really appreciated that trust in me. The return boat transfer was chaotic though, we did tender transfer and the staff were struggling with the overwhelming number of passengers and it was quite visible. Otherwise a fantastic day out. Can't wait to return again ☺️Thank you for your review. We had and amazing time at Malamala Beach Club but the wait for lunch is beyond Fiji Time and ruins the overall experience.
We wasted 2 HOURS waiting and eating lunch. You do pay a high fee to get there and pay for lunch and drinks (which is fine) but the wasted time far outweighs the fees paid.
You can also preorder lunch and a table for a specific time, but I witnessed one family not have their table (it was given away only minutes earlier) and they needed to remind staff of their order. Not good.
Malamala need to better the lunch experience to make this a 5 star day out.

As soon as we got off the boat onto the Island we knew it was going to be magical. The water was crystal clear perfect for swimming in the ocean. We were pleasantly greeted upon our arrival by staff as we had booked a private cabana for the day. So glad we did as it was so peaceful. The main area where all the other guests went was a bit noisy as they had hip hop music playing all day and it was slightly crowded in the swimming pool but that is what some people want and like. Our private cabana for 2 was $85 for the entire day and included butler service. We drank cocktails and ordered lunch. The only places we went to were into the water for a swim and to the toilets so it was very private! The food and drinks were very very nice and tasty. The water was divine. Would highly recommend this trip for swimming and sun bathing and just relaxing in / out of the sun.

Your review makes me want to leave my office and go to Malamala Beach Club for the day, but alas, I sit and dream.
So glad you enjoyed your day with us, the Beachside Cabana's for two people are ideal for exactly what you have described - relaxing and private.
We hope to welcome you back again one day in the future.
Vinaka (thank you).

Magic! Our day was too windy for paddle boarding or kayaking, so that was a little disappointing for teens. We went for a snorkel, best tip is to head to the wharf area to see coral that is alive and fish.
The staff were amazing, very kind and friendly, we didn’t book any cabanas or seats, but were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of space for everyone. We loved the area we choose, which was out of the wind and in front of the nice sand and snorkeling area, close to showers and toilet. (When you walk off the pier turn left and find a seat under the shade)
The food was great, we had a vegan and vegetarian with us and both were very happy.
We opted for the $99fjd cocktail card, this was great especially to share.
We had a lovely lady called Ma who always made sure we had what we needed, every time we stood up to go order something she appeared and did our orders for us.
The pool was a great addition, and very refreshing, it was empty after the first boat left so we enjoyed it to ourselves.
We were very surprised seeing how many people leaving were actually on the island, it didn’t feel cramped or overly busy at all.
I booked in for a beach from massage, 60 mins for $60, it was bliss!
After paying our bill we realised we had paid $166 of someone else’s bill (it had been added to our account). This was swiftly fixed and they were very apologetic, we assured them it was no problem and just hoped they found who owed them that sum as they work too hard to not get what they’re owed.
The trip out to the island was swift and efficient.
Being able to return within 7 days at a reduced rate is a great idea.

Nice outing. Only half an hour boat ride to the island from Denerau. Allows more time to be spent on the island. Nice clean island and food and drinks priced not too high. If you want privacy get a cabana with your own butler for only $75 FJD (approx $50 AUD). Loved it. We plan to go back again sometime.

We visited with our two young adult daughters. Malamala is a short 30mn boat ride from Port Denarau. You can book day beds by the pool, or private cabanas. We just took our chances and there were plenty of day beds close by the pool, so definitely wouldn't bother paying money for a poolside daybed. We had a really fun day, it went so fast. The staff were warm and friendly, the food and drinks were good quality, and reasonably priced. We all indulged in a massage (they were half the price of a massage at our resort in Denarau). We loved our massages. Jumping off the jetty was fun. I would recommend this day trip to anyone of any age. We had a blast.

Low key place with a nice menu of drinks and food - lovely infinitely pool. The snorkelling was a bit limited - best at the the end of the wharf on the drop off. Lots of paddle boards, kayaks and similar.
Good facilities with plenty of "cold" ie naturally warm showers and WCs, Towels provided. Transfers are by a fast cat took around 30min each way

The views were amazing, crystal clear water and so much sea life to see. We booked a daybed for the day which was directly infront of the infinity pool. I wouldn't recommend this however, as we relaxed by the pool several kids were screaming launching themselves into the pool and doing water gymnastics. They splashed us several times before their parents asked them to move away from our daybed.
I think the staff need to uphold the no diving in the pool rule as this was quite frustrating - as a couple we did not expect a beach club to have so many children around, it is definitely more family focused than we expected and theres no adult only areas. If you're a couple looking for a relaxing day I'd give this a miss.

Bula It’s greU8742SZchloem,
Thank you for choosing Malamala for your day trip.
It pleases us that you enjoyed the stunning views and vibrant sea life. However, we are sorry to learn that your experience with the daybed and pool area wasn’t as relaxing as you’d hoped. It’s definitely frustrating when noise and splashing disrupt your downtime, especially if you were expecting a more serene environment.
Your feedback about the need for better enforcement of pool rules and the family-oriented atmosphere is important. Will make sure to pass this along to the team on the island. Should you had mentioned issues you had on the day, the island team would have been only to happy to assist with making you comfortable.
Thank you for your review and we hope to get a chance in the near future to give you expereinces that are memorable for all the right reasons.

A short boat trip (30 Minute) then a glorious day at the beach.
We paid extra for a Grand Cabana (Waiter Service) and it was worth it. Take plenty of sunscreen and give yourself a day of sun, sand and water.

Food and drinks were tasty, and the staff were friendly and attentive to each guest needs. Variety of free activities on the Island unfortunately the weather hindered our opportunity to try out the kayaks and stand up paddling. Definitely recommend for a nice weekend getaway.

Hello, can you please let me know which of the Grand Cabanas is the closest to the main pool/restaurant area? Thank you
Written 27 July 2022
Bula
Both of our Grand Cabanas are situated on the opposite side of the island to the pool/restaurant, (one's no more closer than the other really).
To give you an idea both would be a 3-5 minute walk from Grand Cabana to dining/pool area.
Your Grand Cabana comes with your own personal Butler.
Look forward to seeing you.
Vinaka.

Bula... Just wondering is it ok if 4 people share a 2 person Cabana? We will be sitting together so we don't want to have 2 separate cabanas. What is the policy on this? Thank you in advance.
Written 2 March 2020
Bula kiwibrid88
Unfortunately the the two person cabana is built for two people. We do not have the facilities to set the Couples Cabana up for more than two.
We do however have our Grand Cabana's (two of these) that can accommodate between 3-8 guests, with the same features as the Couples Cabana that would suit the four of you.
Trust this helps and if you require any further assistance please dont hesitate to email us or go to our live chat on our website.
Unfortunately Trip Advisor does not allow us to write our email address or website url on this platform.

Hi! Coming in early February solo :) Besides booking on the website for the day pass and transport, how much money should I expect to spend at the day club? I'll definitely want to try a few of your cocktails and a salad, does anything else there cost extra money? Activities?

Why do you not offer lockers or some kind of security for valuables? There are a few reviews where missing valuables are mentioned. We stayed in a cabana..surely this would be easily located at each site or in the hub??

Bulla Malamala beachclub staff,
I'm thinking of make a booking your wondeful beach this Augaust.
I have some question to you.
1.I saw at online reviews that your driver left customers even if they wait before time for pickup.
What time should we wait at the hotel? (we'll stay Hilton Denarau)
2.Is the transparency of the sea of August good?
I also saw at online reviews that the sandy beach had a lot of pieces of the coral & there are many seaweed in the sea.
Is the sea not so beautiful at August?
Please let me know the matter mentioned above.

Has anyone taken a child over & are the facilities suitable? We will have our daughter 20months old with us in June. Happy to lock in a cabana if that helps.

Bula 327lyndaw,
We would always recommend booking a cabana for families with young children so that they have a place that is away from all the hustle and bustle. We have received this feedback countless times since our opening. Please note that while we allow children on the island, we do not provide any extra facilities for them. We also recommend booking a cabana as it is still a 'bar / club' environment.
Vinaka,
MBC Team.
