“Biting flies, slippery rocks, and for what?”
The Trollkirka, Troll church, is no ordinary church as many may think, but an exciting marble and limestone cave in the mountains with underground rivers and waterfalls. The caves are in the mountains north of the main road between Moen in Fraena...more

After reading about these caves in a leaflet, we decided to check out trip advisor. Glad we did, much good advice there. However, to put this review in context, as a couple we have walked the Camino in the past so not entirely unfit ....just...More

The flies draw blood. Period. Cover up. The trek is more of a rock climb (with ropes to rappel. There are many streams to cross so don't worry about wet shoes or wet anything else's. If you don't get muddy, you didn't do it right....More

We just drove into the carpark because we needed a break from driving and we're so glad we did! Although the sign says it's only an hour away don't be fooled; it's a bit of a climb. We did it fairly late in the day,...More

The hike to the caves is not to be underestimated. It will take you somewhere between 45minutes and 1h30 depending on your fitness and how many breaks you take. The caves don't take that much time to visit. You can easily do all three of...More

First of all, my trip to Norway was amazing. Every part of it was... just awesome. But Trollkirka will always hold a very special place in my heart. As a chubby computer salesman from New York, this was a haaaard day! A lot of the...More

Good one! An advice for those who love extreme climbing: don't finish your trip with lake and finish climbing the mountain (equipment recommended). What you'll see can't even be described!

I just came back from a 10 days trip in Norway. We hiked not only 3 famous rocks but also this cave, which is amazing and has a different style than Trolltunga or Preikestolen.. The parking is located on road 64 north of Molde passing...More

Trollkirka Cave, also known as the Troll Church, is a pretty awesome hike with a great treasure at the end. The hike will take ~1.5 hours and can be fairly muddy. The trail isn't marked too well but you'll find your way. At the end...More

After a quite hard walk of 1,5-2 hours, we arrived near Trollkirka Caves. Bring with you a torch, because you have to walk in a completely dark cave for few minutes (50-100 meters) to see the waterfall. When you arrive it's realing amazing. Go to...More

Yes, definitely. I was glad for my trekking poles, but it was easy enough hiking with no rock climbing needed -- from what you share you should have no trouble.
