About Stewart Island Snorkeling Adventures
We are two adventure guides that have a passion for freediving and conservation. We want to take you on an expedition in the Stewart Island Kelp Forests to view diverse and beautiful marine life. Learn about biodiversity, history and conservation of Rakiura, while following a theme of sustainability and effective ocean management . We will be visiting fragile, pristine, and undisturbed natural areas, ensuring we make zero impact by operating a small scale alternative to standard mass tourism.

Awesome snorkeling tour in the Marine Reserve around Stewart Island. Johnny & Ollie were fabulous and incredibly professional. Wetsuits and gear were excellent quality and we didn't get cold at all! Highly recommend this activity for anyone visiting Stewart Island.

We booked this trip at the last minute when a fishing trip fell through... Now we're so glad it did! Johnny and Ollie were organised, professional, knowledgeable, fun guides who taught us all so much, and made us feel completely at home in the water. Their comms were excellent and very prompt, especially as we only booked the night before. The kelp forests were incredibly beautiful and teemed with fish, jellyfish, baby crays, shellfish and a shy octopus. It was a cold, overcast day but we were toasty warm in many layers including hoods and booties so don't be put off if you feel the cold! We are all confident swimmers but we were so buoyant in our suits that it wouldn't have mattered if we weren't! My 17 year old son has a keen interest in marine science and Johnny and Ollie were so fantastic at challenging him with his diving, and really engaged him (and us all) with interesting info about the Stewart island marine environment. We will definitely be back for another trip! Thanks Johnny, Ollie and Georgia - we had the best time.

Really interesting place to snorkel - seaweed is far more interesting than I thought it could be. John and Ollie are really passionate about what they do and took really good care of us. We were plenty warm enough with all the layers of wetsuit. A hot drink at the end would have been nice though.

Johnny and Ollie were fabulous guides and are very professional. Such amazing and diverse marine life to be seen at Stewart island. I could’ve stayed in the water for hours as the wetsuits provided are very warm! We also saw an albatross which was a bonus! Everyone who visits Stewart Is should do this tour for sure. Thanks guys!

If you are on the fence about braving the cold and snorkeling on Stewart Island, I say BOOK IT IN! This trip blew away my expectations. Johnny and Ollie were extremely professional and made us feel very safe in the water. Their love for the outdoors is infectious and they taught us a lot about the ecosystem we were in. The gear is in excellent condition and thick enough to keep ya warm for 1hr + in the water! We had three layers on our top half. Cannot recommend this snorkeling trip enough - thanks guys!!!!!
