Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went on the one-day Introduction to Winter Mountaineering course with Jenny. We had a fantastic day in the Remarkables. The course gave us a solid foundation in use of crampons and ice axes, which really increased our confidence for winter hiking in New Zealand and at home in the UK. Jenny was very informative and constructive. The day was well structured and challenging but we felt in totally safe hands throughout. It was also a lot of fun, especially sliding head first down snowy hills to practice self-arrest. Highly recommended.

A fantastic experience. We booked a family day hike and climb.

When we arrived we discussed what trip would best suit out family (11 year old climber and 15 year old non climber)

We went on amazing hikes up to the climbing area. Nothing was too much trouble. We climbed, we absailed and we had fun!

A great day, would definitely recommend

The climbing part was great for me when I got the hang of it. Customer service not so much. I was there with my 6 year old. The guy who was there seemed bored and disinterested in helping us. He had quite a thick accent so as a beginner about to commit to something relatively dangerous - it wasn't great that I couldn't understand the very quickly spoken instructions and had to get him to repeat.

I enjoyed the climbing but it was totally unsupervised as he went off and did something else in another out-of-sight part of the building - that didn't seem very professional.

It soon turned out that my 6 year old wasn't ready for wall climbing which the guy might have picked up on but got a quick "sorry no" when asking for a refund. Didn't bother me as much as the guy's lack of empathy and suitability for a customer facing job.

Really fun activity for the kids (and adults). Great variety of fun climbs, with different levels of challenges for everybody, not just your bog standard climbing wall. Fantastic staff - we made a very last minute booking, arrived a few minutes late, kid number three promptly threw up right at the entrance! The staff didn't stress at all, helped us clear up and got the other kids climbing straight away.

It's easier than it looks, but it's harder than it looks! Worth every bit of effort to conquer the climbs and conquer your fear. Safely push yourself to another level. The kids loved it and it wore them out in time for some party food. Burn off the sugar first! Lots of colour too. The staff explain what to do. Magic!

This was a great place to have our daughter's 9th birthday party. There was an hour for climbing and then another hour to eat upstairs in the mezzanine overlooking the climbing walls.
My only suggestion is that a discount for large groups would be appreciated, but I do think it is totally worthwhile anyway!
