- Grace HCounty Mayo, Ireland277 contributionsGorgeous viewsGlad we done the cable car the views were spectacular. We went out and didn't get off as had no interest in the waterpark and had the car to ourselves on way back in. Have read reviews giving out about the price of this I don't agree not many counties in the world 20 euro will get you a return cable car and admission to water park. Worth it for the views alone.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 January 2023
- KellyGlasgow, United Kingdom30 contributionsFlying highExcellent cable car experience over to the Sunworld water park. The ticket price includes entry to the park. The journey takes at least 20 minutes and is very smooth. Watch out for the times the cable car is running as it does not run all day.Visited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 January 2023
- Oscardog16Adelaide, Australia1,191 contributionsSpectacular viewsWe have learnt to avoid the weekends for family style attractions. We visited on a Monday and did not have to line up for any of the attractions. The cable car does run on a fixed timetable, and you are best checking it before booking your ticket because it is subject to change. We caught the free shuttle bus outside the Novotel Hotel, and it arrived on schedule. However, the return shuttle bus due at 4:30 pm did not arrive nor did the 5.00 p.m. bus. We were told the bus would arrive at 5:30 pm so we caught a Grab back to the hotel. There is not much shade at the park so take sunscreen and hats. The cable car departure is in a building made to resemble the Colosseum. The surrounding area has been built to resemble the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. The shops and buildings are mostly empty at the moment, but impressive to look at, nevertheless.Visited February 2023Written 13 February 2023
- Corinne W5 contributionsDon’t believe the negative reviewsThe 8km cable car ride, over fishing boats and tropical islands, is not to be missed. Go early and beat the crowds. The views are breathtaking, and the ride amazing. The water park is very well done, with some great water rides and pools. The shops also sell anything you may have forgotten. The food is not gourmet but it us fine. The pizzas looked really good, and not made from frozen bases. The gardens are beautifully kept and worth a visit in their own right.Visited February 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 February 2023
- Tammy A3 contributionsAverage day outYes the cable car has great views and is an impressive construction, but thought the waterpark was ok. Not all the rides at the waterpark are open all day (so if you get there at 9:30, you have to wait till 13:30 for a lot of the rides to open). As an aside, the other parts of the park weren't open either. By 2:30pm, the changing rooms/shower/toilet area reeked of urine, which was just unpleasant. Also would say don't load cash onto your wristband (although you will get back whatever you don't spend at the end of the day when you return it), as it only works at 2 places. Food is also all western fast food (so unfortunately non of the delicious Vietnamese food you'll have while in Vietnam). And for the same price of a waterpark in Europe - the difference being, we're not in Europe.Visited February 2023Travelled soloWritten 27 February 2023
- EmmaR937Derry, United Kingdom21 contributionsBeautiful views, smooth tripIts very cool! Very modern cable car, very spacious! Most importantly WOW the views, so stunning! We just bought a return ticket and stayed on the cable car (meaning did not get off to visit the island). About 40-45min round trip - in beautiful scenery. Enjoy folks (Just check the current timetable as they stop circulating for breaks which can be a couple of hrs)Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 19 March 2023
- Juri RPori, Finland188 contributionsScenary at its bestAbsolutely one of the most enjoyable thing to do while in Phu Quoc -island. Take a ride, sit back and watch and enjoy. If you get lucky, like we did, you can enjoy the ride with your own company. We (2 person) have that luxury in both ways.Visited March 2023Written 5 April 2023
- EarlyRetirementAbroaPrinceton, New Jersey3,059 contributionsSpectacular viewsLovely ride, amazing views, well organized service. The return ride was even better, because only to of us were in the car, so we enjoyed every minute of the return ride. We spent maybe less than an 1 hour on the island and went back. Highly recommend the ride.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 April 2023
- Lee GrintNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom450 contributionsLoved it! Must do this cable carLoved it! I highly recommend doing this cable car while visiting Phu Quoc, the views from the cable car are absolutely spectacular. Very reasonably priced, tickets can be purchased either in advance or on arrival. Direct access to the Aquatopia Waterpark from the cable car. Such a great day outVisited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 April 2023
- ArvindSharma2014New Delhi, India104 contributionsBest cable ride in vietnamOne of the best cable car experience in the vietnam. Views from car is amazing as it covers three islands and ends in water park, however, water park has normal ride and couple of activities were closed. Also, they are charging for towels also. It should be included. I must recommended it for once and also station area is also awesome. I would recommend to see time table of cable cars. It is a fixed service and would recommend to go in decond half as rush would be less. We got a whole car for our selfVisited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 June 2023

Closed for maintenance. At the site there is a notice saying closed until 19th December. Absolutely useless and almost no information online. Most unfortunately we didn't enquire at our hotel reception before and wasted over 60,000 VND getting there and back by taxi. The driver, of course, only told us it was closed after we arrived. The Sunset Town (where the cable car is) set up is truly weird, completely empty, huge and built to resemble, sort of, Italy. Street names are Sorrento, Venice etc. Beautifully built with huge attention to detail, but like a ghost town. DOUBLE CHECK IT'S OPEN AGAIN BEFORE GOING!

We booked the ticket from hotel reception included the taxi to go to cable car station. Their station is good & cable car ride for 20mins but it is windy so our kids got scared.
The view from the cable car is our favourite, we got to see so many fishing boat and small islets of An Thoi
Water park at Thom island is good as well

An amazing experience with so many excited locals taking the cable car across the islands to visit the swimming theme park.
I read some terrible reviews about the water park which lead me to believe this was worth a by-pass. Not bringing our bathers was the worst decision ever. The waterpark looked like so much fun on a very hot day 😢
The cable car is modern, clean, safe and fun with views for days - an amazing experience in a very surreal environment.
I will be back

Amazing trip from mainland across 4 islands ending at a water park. Cable car price includes entry to all rides. You can pay more for entey to a buffet lun h restaurant but can also buy other food and drink over there. Bear in mind you are captive audience so food is twice the price there.

If you have any fear of heights then do not do this cable car ride. I have a fear of heights where I get jelly legs and sick pit in my stomach but do some cable car rides with no issues such as ski resorts. This is nearly 8km and is very high and over water a lot of the time. I felt awful for most of the trip. To make matters worse it is chaotic timetabling and we were on the last cable car from the 11.30am finish except we didn't know we couldn't do a round trip. No one explains anything well and no signs in English to explain. So then I did a few water slides to fill in the time we had to wait from 11.45 to 1pm. Because it took me a while to get changed out of my wet clothes we missed the 1pm to 1.30pm time slot to get back by 15 mins (ie. it was 1.45pm) and had to wait till 3.30pm to get the next session. The weather wasn't great, the wifi is pretty bad on the island and so it was a long wait to get back to the bizarre and empty fake Italian town of completely empty apartments. So it wouldn't even be a nice experience to see the town. Will never go again or recommend to anyone either.

You can purchase the ticket with your hotel as some hotels offer some combo package. I remember it is about RM30 - RM 35. You can also buy at the cable car station.

Yes. There would be no issue with that at all. You will purchase a round trip ticket.

Hi, Im visiting Phu Quoc Island in December this year and would like to do the cable car trip. My husband isnt a fan of heights so wont do the trip. Im wondering if I can just do a round trip on the cable car rather than spending time (on my own) on the island?

Yes you can. You can just stay on the cable car and come back! We did this with our little boy!
