Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My girlfriend and I went on a half day sailing trip with the Drua Experience. We had the best time: it was super cool to see how this boat sailed and learn more from the friendly crew about the history and heritage behind the traditional Fijian sailing. We realized just how special it is to experience this ship, since it is the only one left of its kind. The passion of the crew to keep the tradition alive and teach it to the next generation was quite inspiring for us.

Also, the swimming and snorkeling near a tropical island were great of course, and the fruit they brought was really delicious.

I can't recommend this experience enough to people who want to learn more about the local authentic culture of Fiji. You won't regret doing this!

Came with two friends for a sunset cruise. We had an epic time sailing out in the channel. The crews skill in handling the Drua and the massive sail is amazing to see. Cheers guys

I can't thank the team enough for the amazing afternoon I had on their sunset cruise. Their passion in preserving Fijian heritage and sharing it with others is inspirational. Their talent in traditional sailing methods and experience were humbling for this land lubber! The team were professional, friendly and made you feel so welcome. The kava bowl was a lovely touch! I will definitely be back:)

We had a small group of women, all experienced sailors, and we had a blast with this crew! We hopped aboard at The Boatshed at Vuda Marina, (a wonderful place for dinner after your sunset sail) which is located close to Nadi and Lautoka. Our crew was knowledgeable and resourceful. This experience is unique, out of the ordinary, but most important to me, it's sustainable eco-tourism at its heart. The company was very communicative throughout our booking process and very accommodating to our special requests.

Highly recommended for a Sunset Cruise and an experience of a lifetime on board a Fijian Traditional boat which is a replica of the one displayed at the Fiji Museum.

We sailed on The Drua during our cruise to the South Pacific. Ever since I booked with the company they responded timely with any questions or concerns. When we arrived on the cruise ship we took a taxi to meet the crew at the hotel near where the Drua was located which was about 7 FJD each way. When we arrived the crew helped us get onboard and explained everything and provided life jackets. Soon we set sail and learned of the history of the Drua and the experiences of the crew. We went to the reef and snorkeled. The water is not as clear as some of the other ports we visited on the cruise but we still had such a great experience. My husband and I loved that the crew members were in the water snorkeling and swimming with us. When done snorkeling we went to another island for lunch that was provided. After cruising for the past 15 years I wanted a different experience and something that included history of the islands we were visiting. I love the water and am not one who can relax and lay out on the beach for hours. I had never seen or heard of the Drua and was fascinated by it when I saw it. This was our first time to the South Pacific and will definitely be a day that we remember. I could not recommend this company enough. If you are in Suva, don't hesitate and go out for the day on The Drua.

Vinaka for your kind words. We have now relocated to The Boatshed at Vuda Marina which is closer to Nadi.

I wish I could write this review about the actual tour on the Drua, but when we arrived at the meeting place, the boat was no where to be found. We ran into another person that had booked the tour as well. Needless to say, we were all disappointed. I contacted the tour operator about a week later to ask for an explanation and they did respond right away. They explained to me that they had new owners and that the lines of communication between the management and the persons running the tour had yet to be established. Being in business for most of my career, I know that these things can happen and I wish them the best going forward. Obviously they have some work to do and some "bridges" to mend. However, this experience would not stop me from trying them again should I be in that area again.

Thanks for your response and your positive feed back and support. The drua has now moved to The Boatshed at Vuda Marina on the Nadi side of Fiji's main island Viti Levu. We welcome you back should you be around in Fiji

I went with some friends on the Drua sunset cruise on Sunday evening. It was lots of fun and one of the most unique things I've done in Fiji. We sailed around Suva harbor and stopped for a few minutes of swimming along the way. The boat is modeled on a traditional Fijian sailing Drua, and the crew was very knowledgeable about the history, telling us how the boat works, and even letting me take a turn steering the boat. If you're a sailor, you'll be surprised to see how it tacks!
