- Katherine BWallington, United Kingdom109 contributionsGreat funI had a brilliant morning at the cooking school. The group was greeted warmly and we were given cold towels while we waited. I really enjoyed the trip to the market with Paul where we bought a few extra ingredients but also bought different fruits to try later. Paul was informative and entertaining and the market was colourful with lots of different food items. It was pretty hot though. The cooking session was led by Molly. She explained things clearly and entertainingly. She allowed us to participate in her demonstration which was fun, before we were unleashed to our own devices. It was great preparing the meals, tasting them and then photographing them and comparing with what they should look like. Molly was patient with all of us giving advice when needed and encouraging our efforts. Our dishes were marked with a number to ensure that we ate the food that we had prepared. I know that I found the food tasty and hope to recreate a feast for my friends when I get back home. Would definitely recommend doing this.Khun Katerine, thank you very much for sharing your experience at our cooking school on Trip Advisor. The visit to the popular market organized by Chef Paul is a real opportunity for everyone to discover the best local products and ingredients to best enhance the dishes of Thai cuisine. Chef Molly loves to share her passion for "Heritage Thai Cuisine", the guide line of master Chef Nooror. You have lived it. Cooking school can also be a family experience. We welcome families with young teenagers. Future cooks? Our Chefs' mission is to increase the level of knowledge and practice of each student. From beginner to advanced, we welcome students of all levels. Like the school, the restaurant is open 7 days a week. "Would definitely recommend doing this" Khun Katerine thank you again for recommending us.Written 3 July 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 1 July 2023
- Diana SHong Kong, China2 contributionsFun and productive cooking class with a DELICIOUS menu!My friend and I were lucky to have the afternoon cooking class all to ourselves with Chef Paul. Highly recommend it! We were shown a recipe set of 4 savory dishes and 1 dessert, and we loved that the flavors went beyond your typical Thai dishes (perhaps because the focus was on southern Thai tastes). Every part of the class (including the ingredient prep and cleaning) was organized so smoothly, and Chef Paul was awesome. He was patient with all our questions and tailored our personal tastes into the dishes we cooked. The ~3.5 hour class went by quickly, and we felt so accomplished after seeing our final dishes laid out in our table. Most importantly, the food was so delicious! We will definitely come back again (as they told us that their menus change on the regular).thank you very much for sharing your experience at our cooking school Chef Paul, loves to share his passion for "Heritage Thai Cuisine", the guide line of master Chef Nooror. - MarcdxbFort Lauderdale, Florida72 contributionsAmazing experience !!!!We Had a half day cooking course with a total of 5 dishes. Chef Paul was great and as it was just the 2 of us it, so it really was a private lesson. Chef Paul is very knowledgeable and was very good explaining all the different ingredients and spices. We joked a lot and had a great time what made also a fun experience. Definitely well worth going. All the ingredients were top notch. You get all the recipes in written format as well and then you get to eat it all in their beautiful restaurant Not to be missed“Chef Paul was great” Dear Marco, You had a half day cooking course with a total of 5 dishes. Master Chef Nooror has chosen Chefs from her team who like to make known the different ingredients and spices. You found the half day fun and informative. The morning class also offers a visit to the local market with the Chefs. To promote the Thai Cuisine heritage guideline the Master Chef uses ingredients that you consider to be of “top notch” quality We will be happy to see you again "Not to be missed". Every day the choice of dishes to prepare is different.Written 28 October 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 October 2023

What a great way to learn some new skills for the kitchen! The Blue Elephant is a fantastic restaurant (had dinner there a couple of nights before the class) and to learn from one of their Chefs is a great opportunity. Chef Molly is friendly, helpful and speaks perfect English. We cooked three meals and learned heaps of helpful tips to take home. We then got to enjoy our creations in the beautiful Portuguese mansion. We were also given aprons, recipe cards and some curry pastes/sauces to take home with us.
If you are wanting to learn some Thai cooking skills (and who wouldn't?) this is a real highlight.
If you are able to do the morning class - would recommend. It includes a tour of the local Phuket Town markets and is a real experience!
If you have time before or after the class - go for a walk around Phuket Town. The old architecture is just amazing!

We have taken a morning session of cooking class, which included a local market tour in walking distance. The teacher is very friendly & knowledgeable to show us how to use the local ingredients. The whole class enjoyed the cooking experience a lot.

Amazing building and grounds make for a prestigious setting to learn some great Thai culinary skills.
The session starts with a really interesting visit to the local fresh food market to get some ingredients. Molly the chef taking the class lead the tour as well and was super friendly, informative and made it fun, she even paid for a local specialty coconut drink and fresh coconut to eat on the tour as well as some other ingredients I hadn't tried before but was curious about.
The cooking school setting was excellent, very clean, well set up but user friendly too. The 4 dishes you make and cook along side Chef Molly are straight forward enough to try at home too, and amazingly tasty. The take away recipe book is a good reference for cooking back at home. Chef Molly and her assistant were really thorough and great fun to learn from, their English is excellent and she's well travelled and very interesting too.
On leaving you're presented with a formal certificate and great gift bag of some of their Blue Elephant branded ingredients.
All the staff are super friendly and helpful, well worth doing if you're in Phuket.

We thought we would take a trip in to Phuket Town as we heard it was very pretty and we were not disappointed. The buildings are amazing and not what you would expect.
We came across the Blue Elephant by accident and wandered in for a look. The building is amazing and we just ended up buying some nice items from their gift shop. Wish we had more time and we would have done one of their cooking classes.

We spent half day with Chef Molly at Blue Elephant Phuket, and our experience was amazing. We have good cooking skills and was looking for something more 'sophisticated' but still simple to cook at home, and Chef Molly gave us all.
we cooked 4 dishes: glass noodles sea food salad, yellow curry, chicken satay and deep-fry fish with tamarind sauce, and one simple and amazing dessert - banana pudding.
I strongly recommend everyone in Phuket to go and try their cooking classes, and go back home with a taste of Thailand that not everyone has.

We had a great time going to the Blue Elephant Cooking School which is world famous. We got our packet of recipes and a nice apron upon arrival. They first took us down the street into the local marketplace which was so interesting. We saw all the local cuisine including fruits, veggies, and the meat market. Then we went back to the school and watched the head chef make a couple of dishes. After he made them, we went to our cooking stations and made them as well. It was really fun and a good time for all no matter what our cooking skills were like.

If you're looking for a serious, traditional Thai culinary journey, pop over here.
There are cooking classes, but my friend and I went here for dinner. It was a feast for the senses.
The barman will offer you complimentary smoothie samples as you walk in and the waiter brings an amuse bouche to start of the meal.
There are set meals with a fixed price per person or a myriad of southern Thai dishes a la carte.
The drinks are numerous and quite tasty, especially the natural juices which are made fresh to order.
Always a catch....and that is the price

Me and my husband were lucky enough to have a one on one session as we were the only ones booked in to the afternoon class
It was a lot of hands on and we got to ask chef Paul and his assistants lots of questions. It's definitely value for money.

This is a great class if you want to experience traditional thai cooking.
My class was supposed to be 6 but ended up being just me! Which was great because I got to ask Chef Paul lots of questions and he had time to answer, but disappointing that I missed out on the tour of the market because Chef Paul had to wait for 5 people who were a no show.
Chef Paul demonstrated all the dishes and then I would taste his to determine how spicy I should make mine - baby spice. The dishes were all very simple and easy to make for anyone of any cooking ability.
This is a great day for couples, families (not sure on the age limit of kids), team building business activity or if your travelling on your own or with friends.
It's definitely value for money considering you get to make 4 dishes, eat them and get a take away goodie bag of various things including your apron ( how will that go going through Australia customs unwashed??)

Hi am travelling with my husband and other couples. I use a wheelchair. Will it be possible to take part in cooking lessons? is it at ground level or up stairs?
Thanks
