Phuket Surfing - Nautilus Dive & Surf is the only Surf and Dive Shop located right at Kata Beach. For a Surf Lesson or Surfboard rental check our Website for the different options we offer. We also have Stand up Paddle Boards (SUP) or Kayaks so you can paddle around explore the nearby Island and Beaches. If you like to get under Water try Scuba Diving ! We offer all Padi Scuba Diving Courses from beginner to pro. You have already got your padi license,then check out our local Dives or Day trips,all offers you can see on our website.

We rented surfboards, took a surf lesson and did a diving day trip to Racha island with this company. The staff was very friendly, honest and helpful and with Fabien we had a great diving adventure. We recommend this place to everyone and would definitely go back.

I went on a Fun-Dive
3 dive boat trip with Fabien as my Dive Master. I felt safe, the gear was well maintained and Fabien's detailed and thorough explanation of the itinery before each dive made me feel excited to jump in the water. Fabien's knowledge of the currents and tides was impressive. So nothing felt unexpected! Oh and so much wildlife! I wish I had more time to go again!

My two teenage children are both beginners and had never surfed before. The instructors were incredibly patient, and after 1.5 hours, they did master some basic skills.
Do take note that appointments are preferred to walk-ins, and only cash accepted.

There are countless surf schools boards for hire, etc along Kata Beach and of course across Phuket. On Kata beach alone there are several at both ends of the beach and are connected so not sure hoe many really in total vs working together.
Our 9yr old son is already a beginner surfer, our 7yr old daughter this trip was her first experience.
Myself having grown up on the beach and in this environment I can say the team here are simply amazing regardless of the cusotmers experience or age.
For us watch how they treated and taught our children was something special. The guys are so caring, and for my son who very much is past the basics they see that, and take him and teach him to go to the next level vs say a real beginner.
The team were overly generous inc letting them have extra time every session and so on. We were wIth the guys maybe 8 times in four days and I'm so so very impressed busy them all.
So grateful and thankful

An amazing diving school. I’d come back for the surfing aspect of it as well. The perfect location, literally on the beach. Fabien organised a refresher dive for me since I hadn’t dived in a while. Just had to walk into the water. This was really good just to see what I still remember. We then went for a short dive. He was patient and informative. Even though a refresher dive, I managed to learn something new as well. After lunch we went for another dive on the other side of Kata beach. Stunning dive and I saw a turtle which I believe Fabien already knew frequented there. Fabien also took bunch of photos underwater, I personally enquired about the camera in advance since I didn’t have mine with me so I’m not 100% sure if he takes it with as a standard or whether it’s best to mention it.
He also organised a scuba day trip for me which was beyond words. So well organised. Fabien delivered all my equipment (that I had used for the refresher dive with him) to the boat for the trip which was amazing as I was already familiar with it. There was hotel pick up and drop off, so convenient. The boat had 50 people on it and 3 floors so everyone was spaced out. They served breakfast, lunch, dinner and desert. Soft drinks were included as well. 3 dives on different locations. I did the Phi Phi islands route via shark point. There were many dive masters on the boat and my group only had the dive master and 2 divers (including me) so small and personal. Briefing before each dive. I managed to see bunch of life including another turtle and black tip sharks. They’re not always guaranteed but the trip took us to where they tend to be. Our dive master for the day Had brought his high quality, expensive underwater camera and snapped bunch of photos (I wasn’t aware of this service) and gave them to us completely for FREE. We did end up tipping him as he was truly great and the photos was a lovely touch. You can look at it as a photo charge or a simple thank you. After the last dive you can purchase beer. they also did live music (nothing much but still very sweet). Sunset on the way back and then hotel drop off. Incredibly well organised. Fabien and his team answered emails very quickly which was great since I was already in Phuket. From then on there was communication via whats app and after the day trip dive Fabien even checked in to ask what my day had been like. Wonderful service and company. I will highly suggest to everyone staying in Phuket.

I took 1.5 hours of surf lesson. Ed the instructor was super nice and patient. It was great fun and at the end I was able to stand the waves all the way back to the beach.

Had no plans of any diving on my holiday. Me and my son just happened to end up just outside the shop on the beach and i asked him if he wanted to do a OW-course.
The next day he started his training and two days later he had his OW certificate.
Very professional and extremely friendly staff.
On a few occasions we wanted to do a dive with short notice. This was never a problem, the owner ( Michael) went straight down to the beach and booked a boat.
It all felt very safe diving together with the crew from Nautilus Dive & Surf.
Good and well maintained gears for rent.
Without a doubt I'll be back there soon. That time to get my AOW.
Thanks to Michael, May and the rest of the staff.

Don't ever go here. I rented a 5.8 board for a week and I paid 3.000 bahts for it. However, I only could used it the first day for 2h due to the lack of waves existing.
I left the board in their shop after my one and only session, I went to the place a couple of times after it, in order to chat with the stuff, concerning about the swell as the conditions weren't good. Two days before the rental time will expire, I just went back and ask for my money back but one day use charge. The owner refused, saying that there were waves everyday and people surfing, when the only ones I'd seen were a few beginners catching foams like they were on their very first day and this didn't even happen everyday.
So in the end they return me half of the money back and kept 1.200 bahts just for keeping an eye on the board I guess.
Also, the beaches of Kata, Kata Noi, Karon and Nai Han were all covered by garbage every single morning. I spent sometime cleaning them up everyday while all you can see is the stuff from this place and from the other schools and shops, chilling, just watching videos on their phones...I still can't believe it.

Yes you have rent the board for one week and us you mentioned in your coment you came sametime by to see wahts going on.
But you never told us you want to cancel becouse the waves are to small for you.
We had to keep your board and were not allowed to rent it out,in case someone else want to have it,becouse you paid for it .
Then finaly at day 5 you come and say you cancel and you want your money back.normaly i should have give you only a 2 days refund,but no i gave you half return,even many people been surfing this days but you as a pro of course could not and even you could not tell us that you want to cancel in the beginning,but you can complain now,thanks alot.

Enrolled my son for OW certificate an myself for a OW review. Got booked in for next day.
Excellent instructor, (David) very calm and gave some very good advice for me as i had’nt been diving for a while.
The whole staff with Michael the owner of the shop was absolutely awesom. Friendly and very professional.
Did four dives at Koh Pu, just five minutes with longtail boat, gave us a very good experience, with both corralls, nice fish and a few dive thrus.
I higly recommend this place, both for beginners and experienced divers.
They’ve got a lot of different trips to choose from.

I rented a surfboard here with a bunch of people. They provided me the smallest board although I was the tallest and one of the heaviest of the group. After 10 minutes I gave it back to get another board that would better suit a beginner like me and be capable for my body size but they had none.
After I refused to pay they even insulted me that I'm too dumb to surf and it's not the fault of the board but mine.. What a stupid way to act to your customers. Definitely going for another place next time!

Thank you for you review:(you come with a group of 10 people everyone got a board for beginners and 9 people were happy.you could not handle a longboard as a beginner which is normal and i do understand you were not happy with your skills,therefore we offer surflessons as well,but you just blame my staff and dont want to pay your bill for 200baht my staff even offerd you an other board but you didnt accept it.if you do like this with any other shop they even would call the police,if you dont pay your bill.anyway thank you for let me know.
