We went to Leweton village as part of an organised tour with 3 others (5 in our group in total). We found it extremely informative, and the water music was a highlight. It's absolutely incredible, and like nothing I've ever heard before. Don't miss it!

The Leweton Cultural Village is unique. The people are very friendly and love to engage their visitors. They have traveled to many countries to perform their water music. First we had an introductory talk. Then we visited the men's and women's huts to learn about their traditions. We then saw some traditional dances. The highlight had to be the water music. We sat by a pool and watched the women slap the water to make a variety of sounds. Many imitated the sounds of nature. The performance was a pure joy to watch.

A warm welcome awaits you at the Leweton Villiage. We saw the making of the kava drink from the root to the tasting. We saw many kava bars as we drove around the island. We saw one of the men starting a fire using a special dry log and some pointrd sticks. Yes he really got a fire started, no triks involved. The ladies and kids performed a dance that was very rythmic and we were all able to participate in the dance. The kids were great. The finale was the water music. We could not believe that so many sounds could be created with bare hands moving through water. The farewell song was characteristic island singing, good harmony and melody. This is a must see item

A must do in Santo. It was so wonderful to meet Sandy and the rest of the village. Each mini activity was fascinating to be part of. The experience has been designed for tourists and tours but you still feels genuine and somewhat authentic. Hats off to all of them for keeping their island culture alive.
