A group of us floated down the river finishing at a waterfall and then short jungle walk. Staff were wonderful - helpful friendly and fun. The trip there is a bit of a rough road but well worth the trip

Picked up from our hotel and transported to Mt Hope. It took about an hour and the dirt road was pretty bumpy and the rain didn’t help the potholes! The driver is very experienced and knows exactly how to navigate the roads. When we arrived at the river we were given a life jacket, reef shoes and gloves and invited to jump off the river bank into the river which was about a 4 metre drop. I am not a thill seeker and nearly didn’t do it but in the end took the plunge and jumped. So glad it was great. From there we floated down the river and it was amazing with a few little rapids (the guides calls them accelerations) but nothing too strenuous. The last rapid ends at the Mt Hope waterfall which you then clamber up the rocks - the water runs pretty fast here but there is need for concern because the guides are always there helping. A short walk back to the village through the forest and we were given a bottle of water and a cake. Lovely!

This is amazing. The scenery is incredible. The guides are awesome. It's just magical floating down the river. There's a couple of optional thrills if you want them with a jump at the start and one off the waterfall. Walking on the waterfall was just amazing - it's not slippery like most. Yes there's a bumpy road to get there but so what! If it was a smooth freeway there'd be heaps of people here and you wouldn't feel like you're floating in a just discovered paradise. Don't miss this one.

Thanks for the review. Mount Hope Waterfall and Espiritu Santo Vanuatu are some of the undiscovered places on this planet. Vanuatu is so close to Fiji, Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia and yet it remains authentic, a designation unchanged by time. With no freeways secret special locations are off the beaten track, how amazing that is! It’s great to read that you really get that... Thank you

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience with 3 very helpful guides. Safety standards can be interesting in different countries, this group had an initial safety talk, waivers were signed, safety gear was provided, water shoes, gloves, life jackets. The guides were very coordinated, positioning themselves to assist & ensure guest safety, I was very impressed! The gorge itself was breathtaking to float gently down. Small rapids were not an issue with our guides to direct us & help. The waterfall was warm & not slippery to walk up. There was also a small cave directly under the waterfall you could go into to view from the inside. I am a 54 yr old with chronic arthritis & the only issue I had was the moving water at the waterfall set off my vertigo, again the guides (& my partner) were quickly able to allow me to grip their hands & walk over it. Magical experience !

A very enjoyable well organised and safe tour, amazing scenery, enjoyed by all of us, floating down the river gorge through the jungle with a waterfall at the end, you can and should jump off. My wife was unsure whether she could do it, but was pleased how simple it was. Only dislike was the 1 hour road trip extremely bumpy each way. An enjoyable day out and well worth doing.
