The track to the cemetery led us to the graves, some of which have been restored after apparent vandalism of some of the miners who toiled nearby at the lucky strike mine and some of the children that died of typhoid...

Love the history & stories that old cemetery’s tell. Silverton was no exception, so many lives lost at such young ages. Tells the story of how harsh life was back then.

Stopped in as we always do when travelling for a walk around the old cemetery, always interesting to look at ages, especially children, which just highlights the difficulties of those days. Worth a stop

Stopped in to take a look, was good to see some of the history. Tough times back in those days. If you have a spare 15 minutes it’s worth the walk around.

This place makes you realize how lucky we are not to have lived here one hundred years ago. The loss of children and miners is found on many headstones.
