Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What an amazing experience! Cannot recommend enough. There is a lot of debate whether to do Doubtful or Milford sound. The answer is actually easy, you absolutely have to experience both. They are both different but amazing experiences! Milford sound has the shock and awe with all the waterfalls. Doubtful Sound is peaceful and the solitude is incredible. We were basically the only people in the Fiord. Special shout out to Georgia who was an amazing tour guide! She had an awesome energy about her and it made for an unforgettable day. Multiple guides were involved that provided local insight into the beautiful Doubtful sound. We enjoyed the relaxed style that made the stunning scenery just that bit more enjoyable. Also really enjoyed getting to stop for a quick swim in a Fiord! Thanks again for an amazing experience :)

Two 'ol foggies had an amazing day with Mark and Callum during Easter. Hall Arm, in a kayak, on a blue bird day with a great group of people takes some beating. Thanks Doubtful Sound Kayak.

Beautiful place to see. Kayak guide (Callum) was great and gave a total novice easy instruction to get the paddle technique working. The team provided all the right things but started the day off by embarrassing a participant, making the rest of the trip awkward despite the beautiful scenery and amazing views.

Best excursion I've ever done. This is a family owned business and your guides are Kiwis. They are super organized, knowledgeable, and take pride in providing a great experience. The setting is spectacular, the kayaking allows you to fully experience the scale of the fiords and serenity of the landscape. Great if you enjoying being in nature, a little exercise, and experiencing the landscape.

Breathtakingly beautiful nature and execellent guide. This was our favorite thing during three weeks of travling in NZ south Island.

Logistics worked flawlessly. Our guide Mark was great and provided insights into history and nature all through the journey. After our day together we felt like any adventure lead by Mark would be a great experience. Would have loved to go on a multiple day trip.

Dountfull Sound fiord is breathtaking and kayaking seems to be the best way to experience it up close and personal. After the kayaking was done, there was time to jump in and enjoy the water, which was actually not cold but refreshing.

Company is run by a family where the son was our captain and chauffeur.

Definetly do this!

We had an excellent day kayaking with Mark and Callum. A slick operation to get us all out via bus, boat then bus to Doubtful Sound. Very friendly and informative and they make good decisions on what areas we could kayak based on our group and the weather. Great to support a small firm, and would highly recommend.

Great experience and allows you to get into the more secluded areas and see it from a Kayak.

We were very well looked after from start to finish.
Good equipment and very knowledgeable, passionate and helpful guides

Mark and Callum are simply the best. Superb guides, each a wealth of knowledge, great senses of humor, both entertaining and informative. We came away with a much greater understanding of the area, culture, history and geology. All the while they kept careful watch over their flock and made sure we were all safe at all times. We couldn't have been in better hands and our day on the Hall Arm was a memory of a lifetime. Thank you, Mark and Callum!

We could not have found a better experience to discover the beauties of doubtful sound. Mark and Callum were the most welcoming and funniest guides, yet their professionalism made us feel perfectly safe through the entire trip. This local family business deserves to be working, and if you want to discover doubtful sound, this is the place to go !

Delightful small group experience. Knowledgeable and helpful guides (for example, knowing where to go based on the day’s local wind and sea conditions), good equipment, beautiful surroundings.can to boat across the big lake, to van to the sound, boat to a kayak launch point, several hours of kayaking, then boat to van to boat to van back to Te Anu.
