I purchased this trip as a holiday finale for myself, my son and daughter-in-law following a hike along the Greenstone and Routeburn tracks. On researching kayaking activities in New Zealand's Southland, the day trip offered by Doubtful Sound Kayak was a clear standout due to...More

It’s an early start and a long day but well worth it to experience the tranquility and awe inspiring scenery of Doubtful Sound. This is kayaking at it’s most magical. Mark and Claudie were a great team ensuring we had the best experience possible -...More

Very peaceful in the Doubtful sound. Pin drop silence except your own breathing or if some one starts to talk. Better than Milford sound.

We booked a Kayaking trip months in advance. When we turned up for the adventure, which coincided with the akepler Run, there were only the 2 of us and another participant. So it’s the just the 3 of us, the boat driver and our guide...More

I had barely kayaked before and was a bit nervous about this whole day kayaking experience. It turned out to be one of the best (if not the best) memory of our NZ trip. Our guides (Cloudi and Meghan) were amazing, fun, and helpful. Doubtful...More

One of the best kayaking tours i've done. Doubtful Sound is so picturesque and peaceful. We were basically the only people out on the water, felt like you had Doubtful Sound to yourself compared to how busy Milford Sound gets. Trip started with a scenic...More

This family-run company are the real deal. The whole day experience was really impeccable. Our guide, Cloudi, was so knowledgeable and passionate about the area and it's flora and fauna. Between him and Clent, their humour makes the car-boat-car journey to get to Doubtful Sound...More

Awesome. Our guides Cloudi and Clint ran the show like clockwork, provided great commentary and kept us safe. They even put on perfect weather, and called over the pod of resident bottlenose dolphins (may have been a coincidence) on the morning run. Kayaking was easy,...More

After checking reviews on trip advisor I decided to do a kayak tour in Doubtful sound instead of Milford sound and I'm glad I did. I started from Queenstown at 4 in the morning for a 6:30am start. It was just 5 of us including...More

A magnificent day. The boat then bus trip takes you far away from the tourists. We saw 1 other boat while we were kayaking and got to take in the amazing scenery on our own terms at our own pace. It is the best memory...More

This was the best guided experience on my 3 week trip to New Zealand. Cloudi was a sensational guide - friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and a superior teacher who tailors his approach to the individual. There were only 5 guests plus Cloudi and driver Clint, so...More

Same. We did this tour last month and it is definitely guided and you stay in the group. It is possible that you would see more of the sound in a cruise, but this experience can't be beat. It feels as though you have the... More
