Just a short 20-min drive from Te Anau town centre and you will find the beautiful Kepler Mountain View Alpaca Farm, where the wild wool gallery is housed. My family went for the alpaca farm tour and visited the shop after that. Several handmade quality alpaca wool products by the talented Jessie who owns the farm with her husband, Ray. You will also find other NZ/alpaca souvenirs in the shop at very reasonable prices (the alpaca scarf was slightly more expensive at CHC airport even after 30% discount). Jessie and Ray are such dears and I hope more will learn of their farm and shop and give them support!

Get close up and cuddly with one of the many alpaca here. They are so friendly and super soft and their owner will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about them.
In her shop you can buy the most exquisite hand made alpaca shawls as well as jumpers, hats gloves and heavenly soft socks.
This was a chance find and so glad we did.

Stopped in on our way 'home' from Rainbow Reach just on the off chance of seeing some alpacas and a wee tour. The owners are lovely and we got to get up close and feed and pat their beautiful alpacas - definitely worth a peek in! Plus, the alpacas all have their own unique personalities and were so much fun to interact with. Definitely recommend stopping if you're passing through Manapouri or worth a wee detour if you're headed to Te Anau/Milford.

We camped up the street before on overnight Doubtful Cruise: Cruise Great; camp not friendly BUT we happend to pass Wild Wool Gallery. The next day we went back and we're so happy we did. I asked the owner so many questions and he graciously answered and took us to see the sweet alpacas. His wife was working hard at crafting her lovely scarves. They were both wonderful and I bought several unique gifts. Really happy I insisted on returning, my husband was happy we did as well!

If you love animals this is the place for
You.
We stayed near by and booked the Alpaca Trek tour. It was just the 4 of us , felt like a private tour. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed.
We were each given a little alpaca with a treat bag to feed them along the way and headed out on a trail with a well knowledgeable guide . We fed them and walked them and best of all got to bond with them “nose to nose” and hug them . Learned a lot about them . The scenery was amazing .
We then went into Jessie’s shop. She’s an artist. She has handmade beautiful scarfs and hats! Among other things all made from the same Alpacas wool! That’s something special to take back home.
Thanks again wild wool!!

We stopped by the shop thinking we would get some warm alpaca socks, and it turned into such a lovely, unexpected visit! The owner offered to let us give the alpacas some treats. Each alpaca seemed to have their own personality from the "teenagers" to the ones in the "maternity ward." The owner answered all our questions and is such a warm and friendly person. It was a really neat experience.
In the shop, there are beautiful handmade scarves, socks, hats, soaps, etc. We left with some unique gifts and are so happy to have visited here!!

Had the chance to go up and close with the Alpacas and they are so cute! The older ones are very greedy and don’t like you to touch them though. Be careful of them spitting at each other or stepping on poop so wear comfy shoes!
The handlers are very friendly and helpful too. They sell cheaper than average handmade alpaca products too.

Thanks for taking the time to review your visit to Wild Wool Gallery Megan, yes we do recommend people when they book tours to wear closed in shoes and when on a farm you do need to watch where you put your feet:)

We stopped by with an expectation to see alpaca. Whilst expecting some clothing products in alpaca hair, we found very uniquely made scarfs many of which were produced artistically with different colour of alpaca hair. These products were amazing. Ray and Jessie were very friendly and brought us to their flock of alpaca, including adults and young and babies. Alpaca were very friendly and most of them welcome touches. This casual visit turned out to be an unexpected exciting educational tour. Many thanks to Jessie and Ray.
