Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

By far the most beautiful beach of Mani. Nice, clear waters, incredible scenery with rocks, stone houses and greenery. Definitely worth the visit. We didn't sit down to eat, but the taverna looked good. Be careful in the parking lot, difficult if there are a lot of people.

Beautiful beach...beautiful..very picturesque.
It is full of huge stones, inside and outside the sea, which makes it difficult to sit on the beach and swim.
You park about 300 meters above, there is the parking lot, with a partial ride.
It doesn't have a coffee shop but a nice tavern that opens at noon

Really the best beach in Mani, and one of the best of all I have seen so far.
A nice little beach in a semi open bay, without the crowds and with a beautiful small tavern.

Alypa beach is a wonderful spot to enjoy a swim in crystal clear blue waters.
The beach is large pebbles so wear beach shoes.

If you are traveling in Mani, Peloponnese, try to find this beach. It has huge pebbles outside and inside the crystal clear sea. There is also a small tavern to enjoy a lunch or refreshment "on the sea".

Great in my opinion, but one caution for everyone. THIS BEACH is not near Kardamyli, it is on other side of peninsula, don t let to be confused. Sorry because of my English :) Beach is intresting but maybe not accessible like others because of big stones which is generally present in all Mani. But, despite of this, i give 4 star . And one more time, search this beach on the east side near Kokkala.

Our aim was not the beach, although it was a welcome reprieve for our assault on the Mani. But lets lift the misty eyes and focus on an area that is wild, splendid and unconquered country, looming over Sparta and is one of the greatest physical divides in Greece.
The people, and their abodes, match the drama of the land. These are the spawns of Sparta.
We found the approach down the west coast from Messinia, the most satisfyingly orchestrated. The mountains here are tumbling, towering and stupendous, with negotiating the hairpin curves testing, but unforgettable with mini forts perched like sentinels above you. The land is dry, forlorn and wild with little room for crops. Interestingly, we were told in a garage along the way, that feuding is still popular here, but not directed towards tourism, whom they welcome...... Banjoes, anyone?
Kardamili is the first coastal village reached en route to Mani and we thought it had a mellow charm and beauty, not normally associated with the region. Warm-hued stone building, balconies in wrought-iron,gardens bearing fruit, pomegranites, lemons, roses, geraniums, with plenty of places to stay and a few good restaurants and cafes. Its a great place to use as a base for the assault on Mani.
South of Arexopolis, Mani is reduced to basics.... tower houses, chapels and fertile fields. Kita is worth a quick whirl. Italo and Limeni with its natural harbour can do decent meals, but be firm and insist they don't overcook your fish. You will become aware of political graffiti,as you drive through the region, underlying the hard issues of the region.
For me ,there are echoes of Rome,in the cypress trees among the tower houses around the church of Ag Spiridon.Very tranquil.... anyone got hammock?

A local in Gythio suggested we visit this cove for swimming because of its crystal clear waters. We are so happy we did. It is not an organized beach so you need to bring your own beach umbrella and mats to lie down. The beach is a large pebble beach and it goes deep quickly, but the waters are clear and turquoise. It is very picturesque and typical of the region. There is a taverna on the beach.

The village Nifi it is situated in the East part of Mani, Alypa is aone of the settlements of this village.Following the central road taking Kotronas direction (when you leave from Areopolis you take the left side of road), you will arrive in Nifi or Nimfi village after 19 km. You must always follow the main road, cross the vilages Kotronas and Flomoxori and then you will see the sign "Welcome to Nifi". When you first enter in Nifi you will see on the right side another sign which says "Taverna Alypa". You turn left and follow a secondary road which lead you to the beach. And there you are to the little paradise...
Thank you.
I wish you all the best.
