Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To reach reach this lakeyou'll have to walk several hours if you enter the park at gate 1 as it is situated in the upper lakes part of this Park.
So to reach it faster you'll have to take Entrance 2.
You can take a look at the attached map.
It is definitely worth the effort anyway.
From Entrance 1, your best option to avoid walking more than 2 hours to reach it is to take the boat trip on lake Kozjak and then walk towards the upper lakes. Then you will find it.
Try to visit this Park by good weather, as always, if you want to take good pictures.
Our weather was terrible, unfortunately.
Hope you'll have better luck.

Another beauty, just like the rest of the lakes in Plitvice Jezera NP. Gavanovac Lake is in the Lower Lakes section, so it's most easily (quickly) accessed from Gate 1. Clean, clear, turquoise water through which you can see a fair few fish.

STUNNING when looking down on Gavanovac Lake with its serpentine boardwalks & fascinated trekkers tootling around.
Words are not going to do justice to the overall impression - this is a visual masterpiece.

To note; we walked in misty rain & wore anoraks & didn't need more to stay perfectly dry! Umbrellas ... you've got to be joking on the narrow boardwalks... IT'S SINGLE FILE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERATE.

Water so clear the fish are easily seen. Pathway is about 3 people wide with walking in both directions. A few people also have dog on leash even large dog or a baby stroller. No guard rails so be careful.

Plitvice is gorgeous with its many lakes and waterfalls. The color of this lake is incredible and it affords a great view. My advice at Plitvice is see it all. It is simply too beautiful to not do so.

Beautiful walk with great views of the falls. You can take a great photo of the walkway from the opposite cliffs above. Allow lots of time for optional trails to hike. Get an early start to avoid the crowds.

This lake formed part of the Plitvice Lakes. One could reach this area by boat from the lower lake. The walk involved slopes and stairs and board walks but very rewarding. The view from different vantage points are just so magnificent and rewarding!
Do it if you have time!

By walking along the high path at the Gavanovac lake it is possible to take photos of (what I think are) the iconic views of Plitvice used in so many postcards. It is my favourite view of the boardwalks snaking by the lake. Do not miss this one!
