Amazing ruins sprawling over the hillside with a great original theatre being the centrepiece. The remains of a silver mine are visible and a wash plant has been restored. Hard to find but easy to access.

This site is somewhat out of the way, but definitely worth a look. It has very considerable historical importance. The discovery and mining of silver at Laureion (mod. Lavrio) allowed Themistokles to build a large Athenian navy in the decade before king Xerxes of Persia...More

We only knew this site was here because of a guide book we bought at Sounio, which mentioned it. There are no signs to it from the main road; you just have to guess, though it is just possible to make out the theatre from...More

Among the oldest ancient demes of Attica, Thorikos was one of the 12 settlements that, according to tradition, took part in the political unification under Athens. In a very good condition, not far from Lavrio old town.

A picturesque ancient Greek theater located near the ancient town of Thoriko which is very near to the port of Lavrion. The theater has been restored and various plays as well as small concerts take place. It worth while your visit.

It was no any information in our hotel (which is nearby) about the thearter. However, it is worth visiting it - it is in generally good condition and there is a very good view from the theater.
