Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent ten nights at the KN Arenas del Mar Hotel, from the 6th to 16th December, which is adjacent to this Beach.

We did walk along the beach on a number of occasions on our way in to the town of El Médano.

The restaurant in the hotel overlooked the beach and we enjoyed the views along the beach while eating our meals during daylight hours.

While we were staying here it was windier than normal and the beach's fine black lava sand did swirl about. The weather was not conducive for swimming, however the wind and kite surfers made the most of it.

There is a boardwalk which runs the length of the beach making access easy for all. There is also a lifeguard lookout post.

While we were here there were no sunbeds or umbrellas on the beach, perhaps it was as result of the pandemic or just the time of year. There were a few small catamarans pulled up on to beach, it could be due the windy weather but we did not see them on the water.

From the beach there are views across the bay to the landmark of Montaña Roja. There are a number of stone bunkers along the coast.

It was rather tidal here and at low tide the beach nearly doubled in size

At the far end of the beach is Restaurante El Ancla.

From the comfort of the hotel we did see, on a regular basis, a large machine which combed and cleaned the beach.

This is a really nice area - there is a quiet road just up from the roundabout which you can park along. There are a few different beaches and natural sea pools. Really enjoyed the snorkelling here with lots of fish close in, if you go up the left side of the beach then cross over the top of the bay there were some lovely shoals of fish at the top right looking from the beach
