Dont miss it, go there, bike there, drive there. But after 11am the road is full of cars and what worse-buses! Around noon no chance to park. Go there early and enjoy views without crowds

Our visit did not have the best weather but we made the best of it. For a single winding road out to the lighthouse, its in terrific condition and I bet in the main season It would be crowded. There was a small stop near...More

Go.... if you enjoy driving ‘mountain’ roads (i.e. twisty, slow paced, big drops, narrowish roads) and like a snack accompanied with spectacular scenery as a reward. Don’t go if you don’t. The cafe at the lighthouse is adequate, it serves snacks, cold drinks, hot drinks...More

After visiting the lighthouse we stopped off here for lunch and a drink. There is lots of parking in a purpose built car park with shaded areas to keep the cars cool. You do pay but it was so cheap. We had a short walk...More

If mile after mile of hairpin bends, narrow roads, cars coming towards you over your side of the central white line and dodging cyclists is your idea of a good experience then carry on. Even on a Monday afternoon in October it was ridiculously busy...More

There's no denying the views are fairly beautiful, but for me personally, the stressful journey on treacherous roads (tight bends, blind corners, with lots of cyclists to navigate, and coaches which are very dominant on roads) and the parking is an absolute nightmare. There's just...More

Visited on a saturday but it was so busy that it spoiled the experience. If you are a beach lover and want to just spend the day lying on the beach jammed packed with people then its ideal!

Yes, amazing scenery but the drive is a bit stressful especially when encountering coaches and Spanish 4x4s on tight bends. 100 times as many cars visiting as there are parking spaces. We simply drove out and drove straight back . Relived to reach safe roads...More

The drive is not for the faint of heart however the landscape is magnificent. Absolutely worth the effort unless you do not like heights or lack patience. Parking at the light house takes time; I got lucky as a spot opened up just prior to...More

I've seen the reviews here and thought that this place is a paradise, I was wrong. The view is only OK , not something worth driving this dangerous and tiring road. of course when you get there there's a line of cars waiting to enter...More

Once you park your car, I recalled there were a couple of different walking routes - but the walk to the very top is the one we did - more than 300 steps and stunning views all along the way.

If you don't know the answer don't guess! The name of the lookout BEFORE the lighthouse (as you asked) is mirador es colomer Formentor. There is also Talaia d'Albercutx which is opposite the mirador. Hope this helps!

I cycled from Port du Pollenca to Cap de Formentor and that was a lovely ride and avoided the massive tailback of motorists. You would need to be a reasonably fit cyclist though. An alternative might be to hire motor... More
