A beautiful beach located on the south side of the island, it has a large cave on the beach and excellent snorkeling. Drive to the end of the road and you will see the cave. A few good places to eat and relax are also nearby. Quiet, shade and wonderful rock formations.

Great beach, difficult to access so best to do your research before going. Best to wear comfy shoes as quite a bit of walking/climbing will be involved! Don’t bring small children... the way back up the hill in the sun is too much for the...More

No one believes that my pictures from Balos are NOT Photoshop enhanced! Yes, the water is that clear, that blue, that emerald green. The sand is that white, that pink. The last 6 km of the drive was awesome, until a car came from the...More

The beach is very long and there aren't many people so it is very peaceful. We went to the end of the beach where there was a restaurant with shower and sunbeds. Sunbeds are free. The sea is clear, it deepens very easily so be...More

Family friendly place, not too many people. Good views from local hills and beach rocks. Worth to go there. Must have at least flipflops. Get best snorkeling gear and enjoy the water.

Beautiful lagoon and beach on the North-West of Crete, pink sand in some places and gorgeous water. However getting there might be an issue. Many book ship tours from Gramvousa, but we chose higher mobility and came there at 10 am while the beach and...More

A pebbled beach so bring beach shoes that can be worn in water. Water is very clear, although it was cold whilst we were there. The beach is very clean and although situated on a no through road, it is very quiet and idyllic. A...More

This is a lovely little mini resort along the east coast of Samos. Beautiful crystal clear sea ideal for swimming. Saw a pod of dolphins off the coast. Beautiful!

The road is there. The problem is that many people mistaken Balos beach at Samos with Balos beach at Crete!
