What an amazing site, a little bit of a walk to the cave, suggest taking a light 💡 and researching the events that occurred in the cave in 1822-23, an amazing site

This is a magnificent spot indeed. The landscape is beautiful, there is the sea, mountains, cave, olive trees - everything is really picturesque. When I was there, there were not many people, so I enjoyed it and recommend. It is free of charge.

A wonderful spot with fantastic view. A paved path ( better with sneakers ) leads to the entrance of a cave where about 3000 people hid for a long time from the Turks. There is a small church inside. It is totally worth it although...More

We visited the cave which is a small church - do take a torch. It is just outside the lovely village of Milatos which is a haven of peace after busy resorts with a choice over good restaurants overlooking the sea.

First read the story of the place. You leave the car on the road and climb up along a 200 m rocky path. Entrance is free. No light in there, so use a flashlight or a phone. Beware of bats living in the cave.

We drove to the cave with a rented quad. With amazing scenery, the place is definitely worth a visit!

We’ve greatly enjoyed the visit. Parking could be a hassle on busy days. It’s a short and relatively easy walk to the entrance. There were no lights inside the cave, so bring a torch or use your cellphone.

this is definitely worth a visit when in Crete, such peace and quiet and a beautiful little church inside the cave, make sure to wear trainers when walking up to it though, and take a torch
