About
Born in 1975, Cascina Sòt is a farm in Monforte d’Alba, that was purchased by Maria and Giuseppe after they have worked for years in the property as sharecroppers. However, with the advent of the son Leonardo and his wife Silvana, the wine business has become the only corporate commitment. The company currently cultivates its own vineyards, some of which are located among the most prestigious cru of Barolo wine area. In 2014 Maurizio, son of Leonardo, after finishing his studies at the Wine School of Alba and experienced in other wineries in the area, is directly involved in the vinification and subsequent sale.We are waiting for you! Come to try our wines!

Wonderful Family Owned Winery
Oct 2019 • Friends
Most delightful tasting with Lenore. Beautiful tasting room and a nice selection of local wines. We purchased a case and also reserved a unique Nascetta white for 2020. You can also do a vineyard tour, which we did not do but would be most interesting.

a good choice
Sep 2019
A small winery, family owned: that's what I had looked for and it turned out a perfect choice. We had friends visiting from California and wanted to show them something different from their Napa Valley. We had the tour in the vineyard, illustrated in good English by the young owner. Not rushed, not too long. Then the tasting, conducted and illustraded by a young lady, with bread, hazelnuts, salami and parmisan cheese. All was very well done.
We bought some bottles, and they send all over the world, in USA as well.
We also bought hazelnuts, as they are cultivated all around, and the local quality is the best.

Enjoyable experience
Jul 2019 • Couples
We had a tour of the winery and tasting. It was a great experience-both the guiding and tasting was enthusiastically presented and it seem like a real family business. The wines very good and it’s was the affordable pricing compared to other winery tour. Really recommendable!

This was the first stop on our trip and it was amazing. Small family vineyard, excellent wine, great value and yummy snacks! Definitely visit. Beats the big commercial ones

An engaging walking tour with plenty of wines to taste at the end
Sep 2018 • Couples
First of all, I bought our tour ticket for a day later and they were able to accommodate (the current group had space). Very, very nice. The current group was also an Italian-only tour, so Maurizio was kind enough to give us a recap in English, during each portion. We really appreciated it since we learned a lot. After the walking tour, we went to the cantina for the tasting portion. Each bottle that we tried was provided with a brief explanation, too. My Wife and I left happy and with a few bottles of wine.

Nice personal touch
Sep 2018 • Couples
We stopped in to try the wine. Lorena bravely went along with my efforts to speak only in Italian and patiently described each of the wines, repeating as much as was needed. She and her brother, Maurizio, took extra care to make sure my requests for shipment timing were precise and complete. I look forward to drinking their Barolo, as it matures, with various antelope and elk dishes in a few years

Wine made with passion
Jul 2018 • Couples
Maurizio seemed to love his work as a wine maker and together with his dad, sister and mom they have developed a specialized. boutique winery where most of the wine making process is passionately done by hand by the family members. A lovely visit to the vineyards with interesting explanations in the cellar to be followed by wine tasting - wine pretty good too. Highly recommended

Excellent small family run winery
Jul 2018 • Couples
We booked a visit, on line, at the last minute and were absolutely delighted. It was hugely informative, friendly and enjoyable. Maurizio was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the wine making process in this family run winery. He was excellent at sharing this knowledge in a friendly way, finishing with some great wine tasting.

Highly recommended.
