Had a lovely hour or more at the sanctuary today. Girls were fab - friendly and knowledgeable. Hats off as they spoke for the whole hour or so with a mask on.. not easy for anyone. Amazing job being done by volunteers around the clock to help our injured seal population with feeding of seals every four hours and co ordinating collections and releases. If you can do donate as they get through many boxes of fish each day to fatten up recovering seals. Lovely to see Irish businesses supporting this charity. This day out is suitable for all, young or old, although I think best suits those over age 6. Attendees get to feed the seals and there is a well stocked gift shop on site at the end. Courtown has a lovely forest walk, beach area, mini golf and playground beside the sanctuary. You can walk to the village where there are a few friendly local cafes, restaurants etc.

We had a super visit here 2 adults and 2 kids (3&7) tours are private now due to Covid, we paid 20 pp and it was so worth it, especially when the money is going to such a good cause. We've already picked up crisp packets on the beach now we know they look like fish to seals!

Sam took the time to show us the behind the scenes activities and what all goes into taking care of these special creatures. The next day we experienced the release of two seals that were in their care for 3 months. That was a once in a lifetime experience.
