Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I walked almost the whole distance from one end of the beach to the other, making several stops for a swim.
Beautiful and clean beach, not busy at all. Very relaxing and with possibilities to find a shadow under a coconut tree.

We lived Maenam beach, great for swimming with the calm waters. We spent hours throwing balls, playing games and swimming in the sea. A very quiet beach with so much space, you can really find your own tranquil spot but always be close to a little bar to nip into for a drink or bite of lunch.
We loved Angela’s at Moonhut and most days would have a couple for drinks, a game of pool and often a bite of lunch.

Great views from here to Koh Phangan. Was slightly messy with seaweed and leaves on beach but this made it more authentic for me.

A ovely beach with best views on the Island as you can see right over to Koh Phangan. A bit of rubbish in spots due to the storms this month but otherwise very clean and lovely sand.

This is so much better than Chaweng beach. It is much quieter, it is very clean (it was when we were here but I did read a review from someone else who experienced it differently) and the sea has, in my opinion, a gentle slope so you have to go 30 yards before it is up to your waistline. We were at the Seaview restaurant. It was excellent food and good Vue for money. The staff are amazing. We got to use their sun loungers on the beach after lunch but we also bought drinks all afternoon as to not abuse the hospitality too much.

A pleasant beach that was good to walk along and get some exercise. The water falls away from the sand quickly and so isn't good for young children. It gets deep quickly. Still, the water was very clear and a lovely shade of blue. Plenty of palm trees to take a rest beneath for those who like to do that.

Not the dream beach of tropical paradise.
The sand is not so whityand the sea not clear at all. I prefer the beaches of the East Coast.

Mae Nam beach is stunning. It’s very quiet & you can walk for miles. The sea is very calm & currently warm for swimming in. Sometimes after a storm you may find some seaweed washed up on the beach, but this is nature.
Beautiful beach, some lovely villas / hotels / bars / restaurants- well worth a visit, especially as it is so quiet at the moment.

This beach is usually nice and one of the best on the island. But lately it is covered in trash and weeds. With no tourism to support Samui’s beaches they are terribly neglected. The beaches in Phuket are spotless, world class, here on Samui they are a disgrace.

I always stay at this beach. Deep (not too many beaches with deep water at Samui) and nice, not crowdy. Quite clean also.

Hello, Lovely photo, are those private sunbeds or can you hire them, if so where can you hire them and what part of the beach. I would like to visit but would need sunloungers/umbrella.

The sunbeds are from a private resort. I think that you can hire them there. Most things are available in Thailand, if you have money. Just ask.

Bonjour
Belles vacances

Hi there, my husband and I would like to know if Maenam would be a better and quieter option for a few days after attending the full moon party or should we stay on koh phangan? Which would be more relaxing. Apart from the party we like clear waters and quiet beaches within easy reach of a few Thai eateries and maybe a market to mooch around. Also is it easy to navigate the island to sightsee? Thanks for any help available. Sandra.

Hi Sandra: I am having "technical, TripAdvisor" problems responding--- but I will try one last time.... Having stayed on Koh Samui [KS] for 2 weeks, I can readily attest that one can aggressively relax... or "just let it happen"....
We stayed very close to "Dramatically lovely" Lanai beach SW part of KS.... as we had a car [we drove from Penang, Malaysia] we visited many parts of KS. I walked on the beach for 90-150 minutes... and it was great. As there are many restaurants, one can easily find neat, off the beaten track restaurants. There are busses which can take one almost everywhere.
I hope that this was helpful....
