Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As well as a large display of the dolls made by Atae Yuki, the Muse Museum has a second gallery area which had an exhibition of paintings by Gustavo Isoe on display when we visited.
The dolls are real works of art, and it was interesting to watch a short film showing how Atae Yuki creates them. The displays presented miniature versions of Japanese life in one gallery, and fairies in another gallery.
The entry fee is very reasonable, given the number of displays there are to look at, and there is a well-equipped shop selling all kinds of pretty things. We also visited the cafe for a cake set each, which were delicious.

This exhibition impressed me not only how the dolls were made but also that you could feel the atmosphere in each scene, very touching!

The artist is so skillful in making doll figures vivid. Their posture, face expression and so forth all make us feel as if they are alive. The figures cleverly depict some scenes that are familiar to every Japanese, reminding nostargistically of their childhood or adolescense. The museum is located in a scenic setting on Lake Kawaguchi on the foot of Mt. Fuji.

If you have travelling to Kawaguchi-ko to see the famous Mount Fuji but the weather has blanketed her in clouds then the museum is good to stop in to use up some time and hope the clouds clear.

This museum is dedicated to a doll maker Yuki Ayae. Seeing is believing. He is a Japanese National Treasure and his work is absolutely amazing. Take your time to look at the dolls - all hand made by one person. Then have tea or coffee in their cafe with a beautiful view of the lake.

This museum, to some extent like the Itchiku Kubota museum, is an obvious demonstration of what Japanese people can accomplish witht their passion, devotion and patience. "A real Geppetto" experience as the dolls look full of life and expression.

Tiny museum with all sort of handmade dolls that look surprisingly real. From historical to every day life and fairytale dolls. Nice little museum to go to when you have time to spare
