Located next to the Great Stone Park on the north coast of Lake Khao, Lake Khao Nature Residency is a complex building with a tourist service center, a café and a mint shop. Free entrance to the living house and the Big Stone Park, convenient parking, and the end stop of the Red Line tour bus, many visitors. The little flower pebble in front of the living house is facing Mount Fuji, which can capture the beautiful view of the sea and Mount Fuji. The autumn noon, the weather is clear, the sun is actually a little hot to take photos, so I bought a cream in the living room, sat down in the garden and ate to enjoy the beauty of Fuji Mountain.

Oishi Park, located in the center of the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, is a spectacular spot where you can see Mt. Fuji towering over the lake. We parked our car in the large, free car park and strolled around the park, and in front of the car park we found the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center. The shop inside the park was filled with Mt. Fuji goods and traditional Yamanashi crafts. Blueberries are commonly picked in this area, and blueberry jam and blueberry soft serve ice cream are popular. Jam-making classes are also held that parents and children can enjoy together.

The last stop along the Red line. If your only aim to get an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji, this is one of the best places. Although a full view of the mountain probably cannot be guaranteed from any place, this place, with the Kawaguchiko lake in the foreground, gives you a good chance. Beside Mt. Fuji, the surroundings is scenic as well.

This is a must visit place if you want to have the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji. The walkway alongside the center is planted with flowers, which bloom in Spring and summer. I went in Winter. It's smaller crowd and I could take beautiful pictures of Mt. Fuji. The official sightseeing bus runs in loops and has a stop right at the center. A souvenir shop is located inside the center where you can buy many kinds of Japanese snacks and skincare.

Our Favorite Place to Photograph Mt. Fuji. No matter when you come, Fujisan will be framed with beautiful gardens. The middle of June-a little too early for the Lavender but perfect for the Rose Gardens. We ate at the cafe upstairs, best view possible, free Wifi, and loveliest Mt. Fuji Curry in Red or Green (one much hotter than the other). However, the combination of curry with dill pickles was a little strange to us. But lovely. Finished our lunch downstairs with soft cream, one blueberry, and one lavender soft serve. They were good!

Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center is a small building that allows you to buy food and souvenirs. Right next to Natural Living Center is the Oishi Park. Even though the flowers were not in bloom when I visited on 15 May 2018, the panoramic view of Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko with tall wild grass was beautiful. I imagine it will look even better when flowers like lavender are in full bloom. I spent around 1 hour here.
From Kawaguchiko Station Platform 1, you can take the Kawaguchiko Sightseeing Bus Red-Line to the last stop, stop 22, for Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center and Oishi Park. The bus ride costs 480 yen and takes around 30 minutes. The bus frequency is around every 15 minutes. Natural Living Center and Oishi Park have no entrance fee.

It provides a closer view of Mt Fuji but is the very last stop of the red sightseeing bus route. The blueberry ice cream was great as previous reviews stated. Getting back to Kawaguchiko station will take awhile as there will be a queue for the bus, depending on bus size and frequency.

Basically it is a garden, during winter it is hardly any color in this area, but still it is maybe one of the best spot to have Mt. Fuji picture.
There's also a coffee shop and they offer a very good Ice Cream, and also there's souvenirs shop at a fair price.
A nice stop and I think it's a must when visiting Kawaguchiko.

Visited The Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center last June. It's one of the perfect place to see Mount Fuji along with Kawaguchiko Lake and the flowers around Oishi Park. Too bad when I was there Mount Fuji isn't clearly visible. Inside the building you can find shops selling souvenirs and ice cream. There are also lots of food stalls around the area. Getting here is very easy, just ride the red line sightseeing bus and hop off at the final stop.
Tips : if you're here on a day trip going to this place and back to Kawaguchiko station, buying the Two Day sightseeing bus ticket will not pay off. The two day bus ticket also has been raised to 1,300 yen from 1,200 yen.

I believe that you are asking the best time to both Kawaguchiko Natural Loving Center and Oishi Park together as the park which surrounds the center adds much beauty to the environment. Late October to Mid-November should be the first priority while July ranks second (for flowers like lavender). As for spring time between March/April, you can see snow-capped Mt. Fuji from here and this should be another choice for you.

The place displays information for each season and not months unfortunately. During spring, you can see cherry trees, flowering peach trees, lilac, narcissus, moss phlox, lupinus, primula and a few more.
